This is the first book I have read from this author. The bathtub masturbation scene had my heart rate rising. Elise has a commitment phobia after being cheated on by ex-fiancé and Dom, Lachlan Harris, and thwarts attempts by Jamie Blackmore---who is also her boss---to further their relationship passed being friends-with-benefits. But then a chance meeting in an elevator with Englishman, Charlton Brooks, changes her thinking. Charlton is in Sydney to check up on his discreet escort agency---submissives made available for Doms/Dommes. Charlton knows what he wants...and what he wants is Elise---his Australian Rose. The steaminess between Elise and Charlton rises up from the pages of this story. Their relationship is tested through family emergency, murder and kidnapping. I enjoyed the character development and the plot of this story. There are many twists and turns, and I didn't see the one coming at the end. I highly recommend this book.

Elise is a political journalist known as a seductress at her job. She's beautiful,smart and very good at getting what she wants. Once she meets hot businessman Charlton, her world is spun on its axis.
He is commanding and likes control, which is pleasing to Elise. She had been in a bdsm relationship years ago so the fact her new man is a dominant is not much of a surprise. When two of her ex's interfere in her relationship, things take a turn for the worse. Secrets come out and safety is an issue. Charlton will do anything to protect the woman he loves but he too is faced with obstacles that threaten his new relationship.
DEADLY PURSUITS starts out a bit slow, however as the story progresses, it keeps getting better and better. I read the last half in one sitting!. The love scenes are hot and Charlton is definitely a contender for book boyfriend of the year. Wait until you see what present he buys for Elise. MMM swoon worthy :)

This is the first book I have read by this author and I wasn't sure what to expect but it has been recommended by a friend and I thought I would give it a go.
I love how Charlton and Elise first meet......their eyes meet.....a touch.....a glance.......had my heart racing......and then the outside forces got involved!! There were times I wanted to throw my kindle! Other times where I would gladly throat punch Lachlan and Adam!!
At times the story moved so fast I had whiplash!......and the end?! What?!!......waiting not so patiently for the next instalment!!

Elise is a hard working business woman who isn't going to let any man dictate to her in business or love. Lachlan broke her heart and Jamie is a friend with benefits, despite being her boss and Lachlans friend. Elise is fine with this until a chance meeting with Charlton, which sends her world upside down. Elise is no longer in contol...the question is was she ever in control to start with? This book is full of suspense, twists and turns a must read!

It has so many different facets hiding within its pages. There is hot sex, wrapped in psychological treachery, molded by family, friends and politics all leading to a very rewarding happily ever after. The connections made with the characters are intense and keeps the reader hopping. Excellent read. Satisfies all your inner cravings.

This journey between Charlton and Elise was wonderful to take. Deadly Persuits , had just the right amount of passion, lust, danger, and scorching hot sex. I truly became attached to these characters. I cheered them on, feared for them, and applauded their successes. I cannot wait to read more by Emily Foxx.

This was a really good story till the end when it turned into a cliffhanger. the story itself was really good with plenty of action but I really hate a book with a clifhanger that forces you to buy anouther book to see how it ends.

The MFC Elise is a highly successful and ruthless CEO in the world of Australian Media. She is nicknamed “The Seductress” which plays right into her friends with bennies relationship with her boss Jamie. Add to this mix the Ex Fiance Lachlan who not only cheated but was her Dom. Then she literally bumps into Charlton in a hotel foyer in Sydney.

Charlton is a highly successful business from US who is co-owner of a “Gentlemen’s Club”. He is also a very open Dom and makes the determination on first meeting with Elise that she will be his next Sub.

I really enjoyed the settings and the descriptions of the cities such as Sydney and New York but I found the story difficult to really get into. The power play and Dom/sub relationship didn’t really balance out and the story was clunky because of this.

There is plenty of action in the betrayal, kidnapping, suspense and separation but it didn’t quite seem to hold together as a storyline. I must confess that every time I read "Gentleman’s Club” put like this I had flashes of the 90’s Spearmint Rhino ads.

Given this was a first book I think it was a great effort and this author will only improve.

Emily Foxx is a new-to-me author, and while I do love a good dom/sub story, this one didn't quite hit the mark for me.

A successful and brutal CEO, Elise is known as the Seductress within the Australian media industry. Coming out of a friends-with-benefits relationship with her boss, Jamie, and still hung up on her cheating fiance (and former Dom), Lachlan, she has a chance meeting with Charlton while in Sydney.

Charlton is a successful business man in his own right. He is in Sydney to discuss business concerning a Gentleman's Club that his company Amigos owns. He lives in New York and is a Dom himself. One encounter with Elise and he knows she's his next submissive.

There's drama, there's betrayals, suspense, and more. As I said before, it didn't hit the mark for me but I do wish the author much success.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I will enjoy reading more of her books. Elise is a career driven woman who feels that love is not for her because of a past relationship that shattered her. She has been having a sexual relationship with, Jamie, one of her bosses at work. She doesn't realize that Jamie has a fixation with her until she breaks it off. Charlton is a Dom and a CEO of two companies. When Charlton runs into Elise at a hotel in Australia he is smitten with her. Their paths continue to cross and they soon start a Dom/Sub relationship. This book is filled with danger, suspense, passion, sex, and BDSM scenes. There is a love and danger triangle that takes place with Elise, Jamie, and Charlton. You will need to read the rest of this book to find out who will survive this "Deadly Pursuits".

My first read by Emily Foxx and I found the story interesting and intriguing as both Charlton and Elise find themselves being unable to stop their strong reactions towards the other. Elise still reeling from a failed dominant relationship with her ex, Lachlan, a few years previously, found a phrase that was known to herself and Lachlan that triggered her to leave Charlton wondering what he had done wrong. He knew his feelings had been reciprocated and would not accept that the beginnings of their relationship had already come to an end.
Many obstacles were thrown at them as they tried to navigate their new relationship! As her Ex Lachlan professes he still loves her, and Jamie, her friends with benefits, soon to be ex, decides that he will not tolerate her dumping him for Charlton!
Loved the angst, drama as it unfolded and the many twists to the plot that kept you enthralled as Charlton fought desperately to have Elise to call his own.
Definitely a great read worthy of your time with an unexpected HEA!

OH my goodness this was an AWESOME book. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. It was addicted and chaos. Elise ,Dominant, and Charlton Brooks there were something going on in this town. With the danger and revenge of others that might be involved. The suspense was crazy and wild with madness.
