AN ANCIENT MYSTERY KEPT HIDDEN FOR CENTURIES. UNTIL NOW.
Can the fortune of a 14th-century Bishop and secrets hidden in the vaults of the Vatican lead to the location of a fabled lost city? Join Quinn and Ted as they are thrust into another archaeological adventure to uncover one of the greatest secrets of human history.
Less than two years after their traumatic first encounter with the shadow organisation known as Sigma, Quinn and Ted become entangled in their web of manipulation once more.
Tasked with recovering a lost treasure once sought by Pope Innocent VI and stolen by 14th-century pirates, the recurrence of a strange symbol points to the possible existence of the lost city of Atlantis. As past and present collide, the hunt for the truth becomes more sinister when paths cross with a mysterious cult.
With their lives hanging in the balance, Quinn and Ted become pawns in a battle between ancient rites and modern ambitions. Deciphering cryptic clues with the help of newfound allies, they must navigate a perilous journey from shipwrecks to the depths of the Vatican's hidden vaults in a race against time to uncover the truth and escape with their lives.
The Atlantis Idol is the exciting second instalment in the Sigma Files archaeological thriller series.
After spending the better part of 3 years writing in the sci-fi space, eventually publishing City of Dust in 2017, Joe Topliffe realised he wanted to write something that was really reflective of the kind of books that made up the majority of his reading: contemporary adventures that draw on historical themes. The result is his second novel, The Aztec Secret, which was released in June 2020.
Working full time as a digital marketer in London, Joe spends his commute to and from the city engrossed in a book, or working on the next story. He tries to make time on the weekends for planning and writing, when he's not busy filling his Instagram feed with pictures of his cat.
His main influences sit across a range of genres, and include authors such as Clive Cussler, Matthew Reilly, Michael Crichton, Nathan Van Coops, Nick Jones, Lexi Revellian, Marcus Sakey, Becky Chambers and Wilbur Smith.
He will be on the hunt for secrets and clues which may lead to the discovery of Atlantis. It is not going to easy to solve the clues but he will do what he can. Will he solve the clues? Will he find Atlantis? How will that go? see what happens next I received an advance copy from hidden gems and I want to review
I enjoyed this book,I loved the characters and the excitement of the story.I love the places that the characters went,Love everything about Atlantis, would have loved more info on the idol.
Historical treasure found at great peril similar to the davinci code and the like. Lots of action and violence as greed becomes the overwhelming force behind the villains.
I have read many books on the search for Atlantis - I found this one most interesting, especially when it came to the ending - so many steps to follow to get things right. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Decent action scenes, but Improbable plot and a series of grammatical mistakes which irritated me. For example, referring to a single person as "they". However, it was exciting in places, especially the ending.
This was an enjoyable read.Sending Quinn and Ted on the adventure of their life. They were the unwitting participants in this game .The story revolves around them and keeps the reader interested to know their fate.
