Abby and the Unicorn: An Original Fairytale for Children about having courage, sharing kindness, and finding love
Sometimes what you need most was inside you all along.
When Orphan Abby meets Unicorn Zoe on the edge of the Silver Leaf Forest, she learns that Zoe's sister was stolen as a baby. Over the years, Zoe's parents became sadder and sadder, and they started to sleep for longer and longer. Now, if Zoe doesn't find her missing sister, her parents will never wake up again!
But when the good witch Glenda says that Zoe can only find her sister if she and Abby first find courage, kindness, and love, Abby and Zoe must work together to finish their quest in time to save Zoe's parents.

"Abby and the Unicorn" by Cassie Fletcher is a really sweet original fairy tale. I loved this story, and I highly recommend it for anyone who likes fairy tales and/or unicorns! This is really a 5 star kids book!
Abby is an orphaned girl who one day meets a talking unicorn named Zoe. Zoe says her sister is missing and her parents are so sad they have fallen asleep and won't wake up until the sister comes home. They go see the good witch to find it what to do. She gives them a silver necklace with a pendant with three empty circles.
She tells them they have to find courage, kindness, and love in order to find Zoe's sister. They do succeed in their quest, and the ending is superb!
The book has text on one page with a small drawing, with a full-page picture on the facing page. The illustrator, Tamar Blaauw, did a great job creating drawings that look very fairy-tale-esque with lots of pastel colors contrasted with jewel tones.

I thought that this book was really good.
I liked the character of Abby and she has a wonderful personality.
The book focusses on the friendship between Abby and a Unicorn that she meets called Zoe. The book is very well written, it has a lovely flow to the story and it is easy to follow for children.
Abby is looking for her sister who has been missing, and her loss has been affecting her and her parents so she sets out on her search to look for her. The book has a great message of courage and kindness and as a parent I enjoyed it and my 7 year old daughter thought it was great, she really enjoyed the setting of the book and the illustrations.
It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!
