Can the Ryder clan defeat a more ruthless organization that dwarfs them in size and finance?
When the dark hands of a blood feud between Irish criminal organisations begin to choke civilians, and strategies to halt the evil fail, fear grips law enforcement in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and continental Europe.
When this war ensnares the Ryder clan, Connor finds with the choice between trusting the skill and mental fortitude of untested family members, along with the motives of his enemy’s enemy.
Quentin Black is a former Royal Marine corporal with a decade of service in the Corps. This includes an operational tour of Afghanistan and an advisory mission in Iraq.
Black is the author of the most politically incorrect, unhinged, and entertaining anti-hero in modern fiction, Connor Reed.
I promised Quentin a review, now he’s going to regret it.
As an American, I don’t have much trouble keeping up. That said, you UK sods are fookin weird.
The 8th installment of the Connor Reed series might be my favorite. I always look forward to Connor getting “personal” with assholes, and we have to wait almost the whole story this time. Great action sequences and detail surrounding them gives you a stadium view but also very intimate experience. Character development is nails, as you cheer when certain people are “done” in the storylines.
Thanks, Quentin, for another great novel. I hope others enjoy this story as much as I do.
Each of Quentin Blacks books brings deeper character development, to the point I feel like I’m familiar with them as individuals. As such when daydreaming once I had finished the book would wonder what they were doing. This is a testament to Quentin as a writer. I’ve enjoyed the diving in to the criminal life of Connor with the progression of the “Chameleon project” in the background. I’m looking forward to seeing what his new life holds with the ties that life brings with age and responsibility.
I tell anyone I can about the Connor series, while reminding them they don’t need to read them in sequence as each is a gripping page turner and each can stand alone.
If you haven’t read it, do it, you won’t regret it!
Another in the series that focuses on Conner and the family, rather than the chameleon project. This one seemed a lot longer than the previous books and as a result benefited from more background info and also just more story. As with all of them it is fast paced and action filled with Conner always taking the lead and Tom and Luke now starting to become more involved I enjoyed it, I read it in a day and a half, my only complaint is the repetitive comments about Conners morning routine. I know he gets up early, I know he works out and I know he studies for 45mins. I just don't need to be told 3 or 4 times in each book
Excellent story line. Branches out to all aspects of the family business plus his stint with special operations. Looking forward in Connor's involvement with Grace and Jackson.
This series of Connor Reed is excellent. Great, personable characters, supported by believable plots and locations. Keep writi g!! I think I am addicted!!!
