In the latest Cornish Village novel, readers return to the dogs’ home where Megan has started volunteering as a book-keeper for the organization. Knowing that divorce papers are in her near future, her volunteer work and rigid rules for life are her lifeline during this tumultuous time. Her almost-ex-husband Lyle continues to manipulate, financially and emotionally, her life from afar, threatening her new normal and happy-ever-after, so Megan must find her strength and prepare to fight for her new life and everything she loves about it so she can keep it for her tomorrow. An excellent continuation of the series, Hope’s latest book is powerful, emotional, and charming with its idyllic Cornish village setting and wonderful cast of characters. The other volunteers, in their support for Megan and love of the dogs they care for, are a fascinating community with complex personalities and relationships in the background of the novel. Hope continues to build readers’ emotional investment in the novel and Megan’s life, and she does a masterful job bringing the characters, setting, and conflict to life. With its emphasis on community, love, and support, this novel has a strong emotional storyline and powerful characters with complex backstories and a commitment to helping those in need and their community.

Thank you to @rachelsrandomresources for inviting us to read this book.

I really enjoyed reading this book it was so easy to get into and the characters and area the book is based is so easy to get involved with.

Megan has left her husband lyle after he tried to close down wagging tails dog rescue as he wanted the land to build on luckily Megan realised what he was doing and worked with someone else to try to stop him in his tracks. She then decides to leave him and stay near to wagging tails rescue center and try to help them to make up for lyles cruel ways.

She enjoys helping out a lot and everyone is so welcoming especially Jay she enjoys his company very much unfortunately after sending lyle divorce papers he finds her at the center and spots her kissing Jay he accuses her of having an affair and cuts her off from their money. So hitting rock bottom she feels she has nothing left. Luckily everyone at the center helps her so much to try to get back on her feet she hates to admit she needs help.

I loved Megan and Jay and Cindy the rescue dog. I will definitely read more by this author I enjoyed this book so much. Its a perfect easy read.

Happy Days Ahead in the Cornish Village is the fourth book in the series. Though it is part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone without missing anything important.
I love the fact that the book is focused on dog rescue and hope it inspires some to help dogs in some way: adoption, volunteering or even monetarily.

The book is a real ray of sunshine, guaranteed to make even the darkest skies bright. After you're done reading your heart will be filled with gladness.
The characters are well thought out and well developed, friendly sorts who want the best for the dogs and have a lot of empathy.

I enjoyed reading about West Par as it sounds like such a lovely place. Wagging Tails employees and volunteers are all like one family always wanting the best for each other and looking out for one another and when one of their own falls on rough times they all jump in to help.

A sweet dog that had been adopted didn't work out for a family is returned and I felt so bad for the dog, but she really takes to one of the volunteers and they come into each other's lives just when they are needed the most.

When it looks like skies are turning gray don't despair or give up because hope and positivity is right around the corner.
Love, love, love this series and I really hope it continues.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

How I have loved all the books set at Wagging Tails' Dogs Home, and this was certainly no exception.

I flew through this book and couldn't' get enough of Megan and all the dogs, while catching up with old friends too.

Megan is the ex of Lyle who caused no end of issues in the previous book, and she has decided to volunteer as a way to make amends.

And it soon becomes apparent Lyle is determined to make things very hard for Megan, and I admired her grit and determination to stand her ground ,and to try not to be worn down from him,

We get to meet Jay who is another new volunteer, and our two newbies seem to have a fair bit in common.

And there is happiness in store for one of the series more obvious pairings that have previously never got together.

Between our furry friends, and making new human ones too, Megan's life is on course to change for the better.

Full of humour and love, I can't recommend this series and this book enough. They are charming and so so enjoyable.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily,

my comments:

Really enjoyed this one, Megan and Jay were both fun characters and it was lovely how Cindy came into Megan's life just at the write time. All the characters who work at wagging tales always receive love and help to heal from past issues. We met Megan briefly in the last book when she helped Andy Sallies partner expose her x husband. Hope there will be more from this series.

My Opinion

Happy Days Ahead in the Cornish Village is the fourth book in a series and whilst it could be read as a standalone I would recommend reading the books in order to ensure maximum enjoyment. This is definitely a series for animal lovers - based at a dog rescue I can't help but want to adopt all of the dogs. Within pages I found myself feeling sorry for Megan and hoping that she would be able to find her feet.

This was such a delightful book to read.

Happy Days Ahead in the Cornish Village is a fantastic read and is the fourth book in the Cornish Village series (each can be read as a stand-alone though) have you set a book in Cornwall or Scotland to guaranteed win for me, always love reading books set in these two places and I get so happy to read them. Then with this book it’s about rescuing and if you don’t wanna read this now, then we can’t be friends.

This book is a delight to read, it really is a book that will leave you a bit brighter when you finish reading it then when you started. It really is a cosy , heartwarming story I enjoyed learning more about Megan, especially the focus on her loneliness and money troubles, it was so sensitively done and very relatable. All Sarah’s characters are well constructed and three dimensional, the kind you’d want as your own friends. I love the sense of community, coming together to help each other that is so beautiful in this series, that hope, love and friendship will always win out.

I adore this series and I’m hoping it carries on for many more books.

Sarah Hope is my go-to comfort author. Happy Days Ahead in the Cornish Village is her latest entry in the Wagging Tales series and, in my opinion. the best to date. All the books in the series revolve around a small dog rescue organization, Wagging Tails, where dogs and humans alike find kindness, a place to call home, and a second chance at happiness. Often in this feel-good kind of book the characters are one-dimensional and the plots contrived. One of the things I love about Wagging Tales is the depth of characterization and naturalness of the plots. These are real people and animals in situations that we can all relate to and I love them all. To make it even better, Wagging Tails is fashioned on a real dog rescue, Wellidogs of Grendon, Northamptonshire.

Buy this book or find it at your nearest library; it will bring joy to your day and help renew your spirit. And if you've got a bit extra to spend, send it off to Wellidogs or your local animal rescue. As Sarah Hope notes, happy endings really do happen.

A beautiful story that had me crying happy tears! Megan is volunteering at Wagging Tails after her husband soon to be ex tried to have the place shut down to accommodate his shady properties business. I felt such a powerful connection to Megan and I instantly really appreciated her character. It takes a lot of strength to offer to help what your husband tried to destroy. I was rooting for Megan and Jay all the way and my favourite precious dog Cindy. I love the connection she made with Megan and even before that she was my favourite as I have dogs with seperation anxiety and they are both rescue dogs who are the sweetest most loving creatures. It was also great to catch up with the others from the Wagging Tails and long term resident Ralph. I am so glad that he will be cared for the rest of his life. I have a passion for dogs and dog rescue so I am in my element with these books! Keep them coming please Sarah!

Life goes om in the Wagging Tails Dogs' Home and meeting all the familiar characters adds to the uplifting feel of the story. Their devotion to the dogs is as strong as ever. Megan is one of the new volunteers who arrives to lend a hand. Megan is determined to make amends for her ex-husband's aggression towards the dogs' home and she has left her life with him behind. It becomes clear how controlling he has been as his behaviour towards her gets worse and worse. You see Megan at her lowest but determined to start afresh.

Friendships flourish in the story and there are challenges to overcome. It is a welcoming community and it seems not only Megan is moving on and looking for a new direction. There is a real family feel to the volunteers who all look out for each other. As ever, the dogs are delightful and the story a heartwarming look at life in the Cornish Village.

In shprt: fresh starts for all

I'm reviewing this via NetGalley, as part of a tour with Rachel's Random Resources.

This book is part of the Cornish village series, and I recall reading one of these before. The author created a warm, inviting atmosphere and I was pleased to return to it. The protagonist, Megan, seemed to be going through a tough time, but I liked how the other characters helped and supported her. There was one particular character that I found very unlikeable, but I felt they were written to be unlikeable. Most of the characters put a smile on my face.

This was a lovely, lighthearted, feel-good read. In particular, I think this series will appeal to dog lovers, or maybe just animal lovers in general. A visit to Wagging Tails Dog Home is a great mood booster.

Thank you to NetGalley, Rachel's Random Resources, Boldwood Books, and to the author, for the opportunity to read and review this.

I really have a soft spot for stories set in Cornwall and with lovely communities or groups of people there for one another.

This is book 4 in the series and could be read as a standalone, but with characters from the first 3 books reappearing and also having some of their stories continue, I would recommend you read it as a series. I really loved the first two books about Poppy and Flora and I enjoyed book 3 about Sally but did not connect as well with her character and the same was true for this one about Meghan. Meghan just wasn't as strong a female character as I would have liked and sometimes her behavior did not sit well with me. Her love interest Jay was nice, but also didn't stand out for me. Nevertheless I enjoyed the story and wouldn't want to have missed out on reconnecting with the rest.

Megan had left her husband due to his shady business practices and decides to help out at the Wagging Tails Dog's rescue shelter to try and make up for the problems that he had caused them.
I particularly enjoyed this story as Megan's problems really affected me, with the loneliness and financial worries that she is going through. It's always good catching up with the people in the shelter and reading the updates on their lives and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series to find out how Megan's life is moving forward. A great, cosy read that I devoured in a day.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

The Cornish Village series revolves around The Wagging Tails Dogs Home and its people and dogs. This is book four in the series, and it's best read in order to appreciate the sense of community and get to know the characters and their stories. Megan has lost her material security but is determined to forge a new life. Volunteering at the dog rescue is the first step in the process, and she finds a warm welcome despite the past. Her ex still wants to control her, but the friends she makes help her keep her newfound independence. Dogs are always the star protagonists in this heartwarming story. I like the setting, the emotion and the story's uplifting qualities.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Happy Days Ahead in the Cornish Village is the latest in the Cornish Village series by talented Sarah Hope..

Megan has returned to West Par having left her husband following the issues he caused for the Wagging Tails dog rescue centre, in the hope that Flora will accept her as a volunteer. When Lyle turns up out of the blue, Megan thinks it's because he has signed the divorce papers but that's not the case.... Will she ever be able to free herself of him? Her volunteer work gives her a purpose and she's able to come up with a plan for her future.

I have loved revisiting West Par and getting to know more about the Wagging Tails residents and their dedicated caregivers who all feel like friends I've yet to meet!

I would describe this book as a cozy romance. Being a dog lover, I really enjoyed the dog rescue element of the book but Megan's storyline left me wanting more. I had a few unresolved questions at the end. Considering this is the 4th book in a series, perhaps this storyline will continue on into another book and resolve some of the unsettled questions I was left with. If you are looking for a cute, quick feel good romance with a simple plot, this is a great book to pick up.

A lovely and pleasant read in a sunny Cornish village.

Megan has travelled the length of the country to escape her soon to be ex husband. She feels she needs to volunteer at wagging tails the dog rescue centre she stopped him from destroying to make up for his actions.

During her time Megan discovers what Lyle had really been doing and she learns how to thrive on her own. She meets fellow volunteer Jay and befriends him early on as he also has a lot of time on his hands.

A perfect story for dog lovers seeking a happy and easy going summer story.

This was a perfect feel good read that left a smile on my face. A brilliant read.

Megan has just left her husband after he tried to bulldoze the local dogs home. She ends up in a BnB nearby and starts volunteering at the shelter. She’s such a great character for this book, a happy go luckily person, but she has her problems. She has a great outlook on life and is positive. Loved this read, a sunny 5 star read.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

This was a charming, sweet romance! I loved the plot of Megan getting cut off financially from her ex-husband and being taken in by the dog home employees where she volunteered. I loved the chemistry between Megan and Jay and how Jay was always there to help Megan. I also loved that the workers at Wagging Tails Dog Home were like family to each other. It was the community Megan really needed in her life.

Another story centered around Wagging Tails Dog rescue and the staff and volunteers. Here we continue to learn more about Megan, newly ditched from the villain of the previous story. Good characters though I was disappointed nto everything is tied up at the end. 3.5 stars.

"Happy Days Ahead in the Cornish Village" by Sarah Hope book 4 in the Cornish Village series. What can I say other than I enjoyed it and read in one day. I liked going back to Wagging Tails Dog Home and catching up with everyone but this time from Megan’s perspective.

Personally I would love to escape to a small Cornish village by the sea and a dog rescue…

Life begins outside your comfort zone…

It had everything you could want in a story friendship, love, sense of community and second chances.
I found the characters to be well developed, and multi-dimensional. There were multiple sub-plots like Megan’s ex and the fate of the returned rescue dog Cindy, plus a few other stories to keep you engaged and interested in the outcome.

I will definitely read other books by this author.

I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Boldwood Books and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Happy Days is the fourth book in The Cornish Village series. It's easily read as a standalone, but for further enjoyment I'd start from book one The Wagging Tails Dogs' Home.

Dogs are obviously a huge feature throughout the series, so for a dog owner like myself it was the perfect, enjoyable read.

The characters, whether regulars or new are warm and welcoming. I love their community spirit and I definitely want to come back and catch up with these guys in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would wholeheartedly recommend both the series and the author.
