After falling in love with Raffi's Baby Beluga song/story, we decided to check Tingalayo out from the library. I'm so glad we did. Based on a popular Carribean folk song, you will quickly fall in love with this simple, fun story about a donkey named Tingalayo. We sing the words, which I highly recommend because it's a very catchy tune. My daughter loves to sing and dance along and it's quite cute hearing her say Tingalayo.

Kate Duke's illustrations are the reason this book is great. Raffi sings a nice version, I'm sure, but the song is older than he is.
