Diplomatic Security does what it says on the tin and keeps diplomats safe. However, it has a small spin-off unit that has a totally different remit, that of protecting the Government from politicians and Civil Servants who are running into danger. It is only a small unit staffed by a miscellany of people, but when the boss goes missing and a body is left behind in his office the repercussions resound through all the security services. The remaining staff must work out what happened and why as they delve into the murky world of espionage and licenced deceit. Understaffed and out in the cold they begin to put together a jigsaw of treachery and deception that could rock the very foundations of the establishment. The question is can they succeed and if they do, what ripples will it send through the security services and the very centre of the state?
