"A sweet read."—Time for Kids praise for Recipe for Trouble

Meet Delaney.

New cupcake club member Delaney is shocked to find out her mom is expecting twins! When her parents first tell her, the practical joker thinks they must be pulling her leg. For 10 years she's had her parents—and her room—all to herself. She LIKED being an only child. But now she's going to be a big sis.

The girls for Peace, Love, and Cupcakes get together to bake cupcakes and discover Delaney is worried about what kind of big sister she will be. She's never even babysat before! But her cupcake club friends tally to her side for a crash course in Baby 101.

My kid really enjoyed this series. This book had good lessons about life and preparing for change (the main character is becoming a big sister to twins). The series relies too heavily on the plot of one of the girls having a crush on a boy, but I'm glad to not see that being the emphasis of this one.

The fifth installment of the Cupcake Club follows newest member, Delaney as she gets ready to welcome a new baby into her family. For ten years she has been an only child and worries she will not be a good big sister. So she tried to become a more serious person and realizes that she can still be herself and be a good big sister. She is giving the opportunity to spend time with a spunky, Cinderella loving toddler, and Delaney develops a bond with little Milly. Her club is also hired to make cupcakes for Milly’s upcoming birthday party, and Delaney wants it to be special for her new little friend. Meanwhile the school is putting on the play Charlotte’s Web, and Delaney is Wilbur. Not happy with being a pig, she ends up helping to direct the play and give it more style.

Delaney is a fun character, full of ambition and humor. She is excited for the arrival of the new baby, and then it is revealed that her mom is going to have twins! She doesn’t talk about it much after the reveal party, but her friends are there for her, ready to help her along the way. That is what I really like about this series, is the friendships in these books.

This is a very quick read, but lots of fun. I really like this series and hope to add it to one of my book clubs. There are so many topics that can be covered.

Delaney joins the other members of Peace Love and Cupcakes and adds a smattering of laughter and good-natured jollies to the group. She keeps the group together when they are under the most stress...that is until she finds out that her parents are expecting a new baby. How is this only child for 10 years supposed to cope? She knows she has to become more mature so she can be a good role model for the baby. But, is changing your personality really the best thing?

When The Cupcake group is asked to bake 'gender-reveal' cupcakes for Delaney's mom's baby shower, they are tickled pink (or is it blue?)! Much to Delaney's surprise she finds out that it is both when it is revealed that her mom is carrying twins...a boy and a girl!

Baby Cakes is another fun-filled, delicious chapter in the series. The babies decide to make their entrance into the world at a very inopportune time, much to the chagrin and delight of Delaney. What's next for these talented girls?...I'm sure it will be another sweet adventure, for sure.

The cupcake club is about how a girl named Delaney is a cupcake club member . So far I read 15 pages so I can't really explain more but I can say that the girl Delaney is surprised to find out that her mom is having twins . I wonder what will happen next in the story . I wonder what Delaney will do about her mom having twins . I don't know but I am itchy to find out what will happen
