I wish this book had existed years ago! Wow, what a great "how-to" of navigating the corporate world as a person of color. I'm thankful to Devika for opening up the hood, showing us the pitfalls, and how to avoid falling in. I reflected on when I first entered the corporate world in my twenties and related to what Devika went through when dealing with unsupportive managers, minimal feedback, and lack of career progression. Trust that I'll re-read certain chapters to prepare for the new year! I plan on gifting this book to my mentee who is a senior in college. I hope that this book will help them navigate situations I had to learn the hard way. Thank you Devika!
