I loved this one, the three little girls with distinct personalities who miss their mother, the hero who has so many walls around him that he doesn't know how to reach out to his daughters and show them the love he has for them. The hero is a man who outwardly has all a big house, money, his own business but inside he is empty. He lost his wife a year back but he doesn't miss her but misses the mother she was since his marriage wasn't happy. To him happiness has become warped in the trappings of wealth since he came from a humble background which his wife tried to hide away. Then the heroine Ariel comes jostling into their life, she is his eldest daughter's teacher who is worried about her student who is so sad and talks as if her mother is still alive. She thinks the hero is a bad father but when she sees him for the first time realises she was wrong. Their first meeting is a disaster, at the second the hero is curt and has to rely on her to watch his kids for a week. When he gets back he notices his carefully maintained house has been turned upside down and his daughter's are happy. Somehow his kids and heroine talk him into going to her family farm where they grow closer but the hero doesn't want a relationship because his wife really did a number on him, putting all the blame on him, alienating his daughter's all of which he doesn't see but the heroine does when he confides in her. I liked seeing the gradual change in him, and it made sense for him to pull back when he finds his defenses crumbling. It was great seeing him come onto his own as a father and as a man who had a great capacity to love. Loved this and kids and the heroine. She was too good to be true but heck this is a romance.

this is the only book i have read by this author and it did not really make me want to read more. Ariel was likeable enough except for her annoying pollyanna side. But the thought that this conscientous teacher would risk her career by sleeping with a guy she had only known a few months was ridiculous but that is harlequinn got to have at least one bedroom scene and the fact that Damon is a jerk makes it even less believeable . Wont read this book again and dont recommend it
