"It's only this silly red crayon that's talked ever since I slipped him out of his new box the first day of class."

A student needs to do his project on Mars, but can't finish it because his red crayon has run away.

Expected it to be more appropriate for preschoolers but it was not. Maybe a good choice for older elementary or middle level kids who enjoyed The Day the Crayons Quit.

My five-year-old son picked this book out from the library this week. He wanted to check out all red books.

This book didn't work very well for me. It's a picture book, so it would seem that by nature it would skew toward pre-schoolers and early elementary, but the voice of the narrative reads older -- fourth to sixth grade.

This book has great graphics and ties together a lot of factoids and pieces of information that could keep a kid interested. Better for an older crowd but probably still interesting for the younger ones.

Lots of important thing in addition to Mars are red. The red crayon helps shed light to many matters.

perfect for the letter 'r'

Some kindergarten classes loved the facts. Had to pause often for them to process everything on the pages.
