I don’t even know how to begin to review this sweet and heartfelt story of a fetus learning of the outside world through the sounds and sensations of her mother. From praying to eating to laughing and dancing, this kid gets excited of the joyful life she knows is coming.
But the best part of the book is the parallel images of the pregnant mother dancing and then the future mother and daughter dancing:
“I’m alive, dear mama, and I’m learning to dance. Will you always remember our time spent in France?
While the music played a tune oh so sweet, you danced with daddy alone on the street.
Together you twirled, you dipped and you spun, I felt it too—it was so very fun!
Oh my dear mama, can you see? One day we will dance, both you and me!”
Que this tissues! This one is a keeper.
