I love the new additions to this series with each book. This time, we're in LA with Travis and Chelsea. She's trying to free her father from a false murder conviction, and he's trying to outrun his past, both from childhood and from his time at the LAPD. Together, they make a dream team of rabid raccoons willing to do anything to prove themselves to each other and the authorities. Her father didn't kill Lilly, but Chelsea knows just saying that isn't enough. She's been trying for seven years. The only way to free her father and find his girlfriend's killer is to do the work herself.

This is another strong book for West Investigations and K.D. Richards. I love that each book can be read as a stand-alone without any confusion, but if you read the series, you'll feel like you're visiting old friends.

Perfect guilty pleasure read

I had read one other KD Richards book and decided that I needed more. This book definitely fit the bill. Passionate characters and a great plot with a lot of twists and turns, I was mesmerized. Chelsea was quite a go-getter wanting to get her father out of prison for a crime he didn't commit. It seemed the whole system was against her, even the police. Then she decided to hire West Investigations for one last ditch effort to find more evidence. That got Chelsea connected to Travis and this became not just a story of freeing her father but of finding love too. Definitely a great read.

Strong cold case type of mystery. It definitely kept my interest. Definitely can be read stand alone. Travis’s back story was interesting but seemed to have limited relevance to the book - seemed like a bit of an unnecessary tangent.

pretty good suspense thriller. I didn't guess the killer...or rather I did coz they gave off suspicious vibes from the get go, but I thought the big bad would turn out to be more unexpected, so I ended up ultimately suspecting a poor total innocent.

Excellent book. A very insistent daughter who truly believes her father is not guilty of murder, only a drunk.

Good story line. Makes you feel how family is important. Seemed to be down in the beginning but good end.

Quick east read. The author did a great job keeping the culprit's identity a secret.

Quick, easy read. I was able to figure out the suspect though. Still good.
