Regina has everything she possibly wants. At least almost everything. Two things elude her.

One. Dapo.

Dapo is all shades wrong and not hers. He’s her sister’s man, yet her heart can’t stop beating for him. Why? Maybe because he has the other one thing she knows she can never have—a relationship with God. Something she once had but foolishly threw away.

Rachel is wife material. Not just any wife material. Pastor’s wife material. She’s godly, calm, and reserved. She loves the Lord, and she’s pretty enough that they’d both look good on a church poster. Dapo’s plan to become the youngest youth pastor at Solid Rock Assembly is set in motion and meets an abrupt end when his fiancée marries Brother Bisola instead.

Enraged and heartbroken, Dapo finds himself nursing a heartbreak and feelings towards his best friend’s baby sister, Regina. Regina is all shades wrong. She’s loud, impulsive, has close to zero interest in the things of the Lord, wears skimpy clothes, and is too beautiful for her own good. Despite all the red flags, he can’t stop himself from loving her. And three words ring loud and clear: RECIPE FOR DISASTER.

Regina believes in fate. Could it be fate bringing them together? Or is there something else, something more powerful intent on weaving something marvellous out of that disaster?

Love’s Beacon is a Nigerian contemporary loose retelling of the Hosea and Gomer story.

IyanuOluwa Olorode, known to most as Iyanu, is passionate about writing Christian Fiction that portrays the love of God in a broken world. She writes about the Master Fixer who puts back together broken hearts and souls.

When she's not writing, she's daydreaming and having conversations with her characters in her head. If she's not doing either of these, then she's listening to music (majorly Contemporary Christian Music), cooking and finding new recipes, reading novels and gushing about them online, watching movies with incredible storylines, scrolling on Instagram and sending funny reels to her reel-ationship partners or listening to the word of God.

Iyanu lives in Ogun State, Nigeria, with her Mama Booska, Big Li'l Sis, and a younger brother who is hell-bent on becoming taller than everyone in the house.

I unapologetically rate this a 5 star....Ahn Ahn, IyanuOluwa finished work on this book. From the characters and how they shoned individually and how relatable they were to the scenes with realistic dialogues, down to how each chapter built up nicely against the previous one is so lovely to see.

This book follows the story of Regina, the FMC and Dapo, the MMC on how their love story emerged despite all odds. The book centred around forgiveness, faith, love , redemption and God at the centre.

It is a Christian fiction with a sprinkle of romance that had lots of lessons embedded within. I'll love to recommend as it is a beautiful read!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Author Review!

Love's Beacon is the second book in The Way Home series. It's a contemporary loose retelling of the Hosea and Gomer story set in Nigeria.

If you love Hosea and Gomer retellings, the best friend's sister trope, slow-burn romances filled with angst, a bit of drama, a female MC who is a little bit troublesome, and Nigerian culture representation, then you'll love this book.

This book was a page-turner for me. I finished it in two days. It evoked emotions and reactions from me as i saw the authenticity of flawed characters, potraying the real world as is.

The hosea and Gomer retelling had me pausing severally and asking the Holy Spirit to help my heart to really love like Him because my response to all regina did would have been different from Dapo's reactions and actions which came in love when he obeyed(even if not immediately).

The book taught me patience, forgiveness, and most importantly, to seek God's face concerning every area of my life because he is so intentional about every detail. It taught me to listen, to obey, and to trust God with every little step even with things he has already promised me.

It will evoke emotions from you; laughter, tears, anger, frustration, and many 'awwws' here and there. Dapo and Regina, as flawed as they were reminded that as long as we are willing, no matter what our past looks like, all that God creates is good meaning he writes the best love stories, and we should entrust ours to him.

The writing is beautifully done, I'm not Nigerian, but as an african, i very much enjoyed the whole Nigerian culture and its similarities to my culture.

Long and short is don't doubt it go ahead and Read this book!!!!
God bless the author. I'm definitely reading more of her books.

Love’s Beacon by Iyanuoluwa Olorode was such a beautifully written story — I absolutely loved it! It’s a refreshing modern-day Christian fiction, full of relatable language, fun banter, and just the right amount of humor. I honestly had to remind myself several times that it was Christian fiction because it felt so real and vibrant.

The romance was heartfelt and genuine, and the way the author seamlessly wove scripture into the story was simply impeccable. Through this book, I found myself seeing God’s love in a new light — reminded that He’s good and faithful no matter what season I’m in, whether good or bad.

And that ending? Wow. So romantic and delightfully cheesy — I had butterflies in my stomach and couldn’t stop smiling. It was the perfect conclusion to a truly beautiful story. Iyanu, please keep writing more gems like this — this one was absolutely lovely. 💖

When a book brings you conviction, you can't help but fall in love. When a story is so powerful and real, you can't help but fall in love. Love's Beacon was a blessing, a story inspired by the Holy Spirit himself, and that is the magnificent part of this Christian Romance book.

I was immediately drawn in by the characters, Regina and Dapo, two people who God brought together for His will to be done. It's a story that will move you, teach you, and help you learn more about the Lord.

If you're in a stage in your life where you are finding it difficult to trust God, please go and read this. God's love does not disappoint; this book will show you that. His love is eternal, merciful, and beautiful.

Thank you to the author for an E copy of this book. I'm honoured and blessed to have read it.

Now, it's your turn.
God bless you❤️

Love's Beacon had me swooning and squealing too many times to count.

The love story between Regina and Dapo was too relatable on so many levels. The doubt, the emotional turmoil, learning to forgive and let go...

I laughed at many instances in this story. The Nigerian banter between the besties in this story had me rolling multiple times.

One thing I appreciated was the way the author beautifully described the outfits of the characters. It helped with my mind's visualisation and also helped to make a statement about the personality of each character.

And the scenery and food descriptions were also so detailed.

(Thumbs up for the bidding scene for the architecture project that Yagazie did. As an architecture student, I must say that scene was spot on.)

But, most especially, I really appreciate the depth of the message of God's unending love to us. Just like Hosea and Gomer, God loves us relentlessly despite our flaws.

This story definitely earned a five star rating. I can't wait for the release of the next book in The Way Home Series.

What happens when God tells you your future spouse is someone who doesn’t even believe in Him?

Love’s Beacon follows Regina, a non-believer, and Dapo, a man of deep faith, as they navigate love, obedience, and God's intentionality. Their story, inspired by Hosea and Gomer, is touching, thought-provoking, and packed with lessons on patience, forgiveness, and trust in God’s plan.

I especially loved the gospel playlist and the Bible verses woven into the story — they added depth and nostalgia. The writing is heartfelt, the characters are relatable, and the message? Unforgettable.

Highly recommend!

Whew! Another emotion-packed book. IyanuOluwa Olorode is not done dishing it out... no way! Love's Beacon is filled with drama, edge-of-seat suspense, and unquenchable love. The love story of Regina and Dapo spans years, filled with different characters and situations. When you think it’s about to climax, the story takes another twist and starts another chain of events.
I love how IyanuOluwa Olorode wove the story of God's unfathomable love despite our flaws. The beauty of Nigerian lingo and life shines through.
Is anyone wondering if there can be any forgiveness after a bad past? Love's Beacon reiterates the fact that it is possible when trust is placed in God.
After reading Love's Direction, I was curious to know more about Regina's story and I was blown away. She and Dapo are people of character, moving on from their past and coming together in love. Dapo- persevering and holding God tight while waiting for the manifestation of His promise and Regina- gradually forgiving herself, moving past her scandalous past, and discovering her self-worth make Love's Beacon a worthwhile read. The words flowed and brought forth a beautiful well well-crafted picture of God's unfailing love.

This is my first Goodreads review and I am so happy it's on this book.
Love's Beacon is a story of Redemption and Restoration. So beautifully written.
IyanOluwa Olorode brought the love of Christ to tangibility all over again.

Regina, Helen, Dapo, Tomini, and Julia are characters masterfully written (I can't wait to read Helen's back story!).
The author says it's a retelling of the Hosea and Gomer story in the scriptures and that's quite befitting.

What I loved so much are the conversations some of the characters had with God. Dapo and Helen. Sometimes it was confrontational, other times it was reassuring and comforting. The real big Picture of God being a Dad, always.

One would think it impossible for a backslidden Christian to find the Love of Christ appealing again. IyanOluwa proves us all wrong with this piece. Regina finds God again or better still, God found Regina, again.

To the part that made my heart thump so badly, THE WAITING. I'd like to say that the author scared me to bits with Dapo. The patience he exuded, the courage to hold on to God's Word. It was all so daunting.

The interesting descriptions in this book will carry the simplest of readers along. I recommend this for those who are beginning to doubt the Father's Heart.

Love's Beacon is a captivating Christian romance that seamlessly blends faith, love, and life's unexpected challenges into a compelling narrative. The story draws readers into a world where the power of love and faith can overcome any obstacle.

One of the highlights of the book is the beautifully crafted romance. The characters are well-developed, with genuine chemistry that makes their love story both believable and heartwarming. Their journey together is filled with moments of joy, doubt, and growth, all underpinned by a strong sense of faith that guides them through their trials.

The ending of "Love's Beacon" is nothing short of a rollercoaster of emotions. Iyanuolwa masterfully builds tension and anticipation, leading to a climax that is both surprising and deeply satisfying. It's an emotional journey that leaves readers reflecting on the power of love and faith in their own lives.

Shout out to her for creating such an engaging and uplifting story. "Love's Beacon" is a testament to her talent for storytelling and her ability to weave together themes of romance and faith in a way that resonates deeply with readers. This book is a must-read for anyone looking for a heartwarming and inspiring love story.

4.5/5 stars

A Hosea and Gomer retelling with our two main characters Dapo and Regina. Dapo is a well known man of God in his church. He has romantic interest on Regina but she isn't the type of woman he wanted to spend his life with. So, imagine his surprise when he prayed against his attraction but the lord Ordained to him that Regina is his soul mate.

Regina is the opposite of Dapo, she dresses immodest, doesn't have faith in God but she makes a lot of money.

None of the characters in this story are perfect. Both of them have their flaws and strengths. Something that makes them perfect. They felt real, complex and showed that anyone can make mistakes. That any person can be guilty of sin. I adore this story and how it doesn't try to sugarcoat anything.

I rate this book 4.5. I love how realistic and relatable the story and the characters are. The Themes: Love Redemption, Restoration, Forgiveness especially forgiving yourself after a mistake resonates with me, Also how to handle the period of waiting.

It was just a good story, there were so many lessons in it.

I love the characters! My favorites were Dapo, Tomini and Helen. As for Regina I was so glad she got a grip of herself, realised how much God loves her but sometimes I was just giving her * bombastic side eye* .

Kudos to the Author. I look forward to reading Love's Direction

As soon as I finished Love's Direction, I jumped on this and loved the story, this one got my heart in the right places, and wow!

God indeed is the greatest love story and His love is the basis for our dealings so that we lean on him and him alone.

I loved the characters and I understand the hold shame and guilt can have on a person. God's love is indeed a liberator.

I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

This was another character who seemed to have it all and was entitled. It felt like there were a lot of characters in the story.

Temi had to hit rock bottom before she realized she needed God to be her all in all.

Love's Beacon is another retelling of the Hosea and Gomer's story in the Bible. And I'll tell you from the beginning of this book to the very end, I was captivated and loved every bit of it. Regina and Dapo's story was so sweet. Several times, I felt like knocking Regina on her head that can't you see real love, lol and the way Dapo loved her, oh my. Which just goes to show how much God loves us no matter what. There were so many swoon worthy scenes in the book. If you are a lover of romance, especially Christian romance, trust me you'll love LOVE'S BEACON. The turns and twists in the novel just made it so relatable even as it spanned several years. All the characters were so relatable and I loved the use of the Nigerian linguo, the inclusion of the Bible verses and the choice of Bible versions used. You'll also love the playlist added to it. This book delivered on all it promised and more. LOVE'S BEACON is 10/10! I love it! Will definitely be reading other books by the author.
