As a paramedic, I respond to tons of car crashes. I didn’t expect to get aroused by a fireman with a resting grump face whom I’d just met. I’m wishing I’d packed lipstick in my jump bag, maybe worn my prom dress. We’re harnessed upside down, our faces inches apart, in an overturned car rocking on the edge of a cliff outside our small town. Instantly, I’m flooded with the yummiest take-me-home scent of musk and pheromones. No, no, no. Love or smell at first sight is silly. It’s the total opposite of my hard-earned personal power and independence. Suddenly, this alpha control freak is barking orders at me like an army sergeant, sounding very much like my army vet, loner brother who still thinks he’s in the trenches. He’s grabbing the spinal board that I was strapping to the driver and pushing us both out of the car while he tries to stop its slide down 100 feet. Oh great, now I owe my life to this tempting smelling jerk.
I really liked this book! You can never go wrong with a grumpy firefighter! Grif is a firefighter, former military. He's used to giving orders and having them followed. Emm is a paramedic. She doesn't particularly like being yelled at, and she pushes back at Grif when he gives her orders. They meet in a car about to go off a cliff. Emm is trying to get the driver out, and Grif and his team are trying to keep the car from going over the cliff, with them in it. Fortunately, they succeed, but that's just the beginning of their tumultuous relationship. Emm and her partner get assigned to the firehouse, so she and Grif end up working together a lot. Then Grif finds out about her living situation and offers her his spare room. And the tension ratchets up from there! The two of them actually work well together, but both end up with doubts about living together. Until Grif has an accident and Emm takes care of him. Then he really starts to appreciate her. OMG - the tension between them is palpable, but there's also an attraction they can't ignore. And it's so good! This was a yummy little book! I loved the enemies to lovers theme, and there's a little full-circle moment at the end that's just so sweet! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really liked the story 'Rescued by a Grumpy Firefighter' by Ariel Prosper. It was a cute story about an EMT worker and a firefighter meet and fall in love. Em is an independent and opinionated woman and Grif is a stubborn man who likes things done his way without any questions asked. He is exasperated by Em when she does not follow his orders and acts as she sees fit. He calls her 'rogue' because that is his idea of a person that will do as they want without following orders. He had been in the military for years before becoming a firefighter and he was used to the military life of order and obeying without question, especially when it meant obeying him. He and Em clash at first but soon he is offering her his spare room when she mentions that she wants to move out of her brother's place, and they become housemates. And it seems like every time they argue, they end up having sex. It is a cute give and take relationship that sort of sneaks up on them and they find that each of them softens the rough edges of the other's personality. the characters are very cute together.

Great book that I really enjoyed reading. I thought that some of the scenes were pretty realistic, and Ariel done a great job writing about Grif and Emm. I was hoping the cover would have had a HOTTER fireman on it, but that isn't a deal breaker for me when I read a book. This is the second book I have read by this author, and she has a way of writing a book that you can't or won't want to put down. The ending is good as well.
