The core idea of this children’s book is to get across the difference between quarantine and qualitative data to a young reader. This complicated subject is broken down by the author and made easier to understand.
The book has plenty of Interactive puzzles to engage young minds and a friendly main character who they will want to be friends with and accompany on a mission.
The book is filled with brightly colored illustrations and the “mission” is set in a fun location - the carnival with its rides and attractions. Here the author sets up counting puzzles for the reader. The puzzles and tasks are somewhat repetitive, but this should help get across the idea of quantitative vs qualitative data.
A printable certificate of completion for the reader which is a nice touch.

Colourfun Fun with Analytical Math!

Bright, full of prismatic excitement on every page, well illustrated, and a way of explaining qualitative and quantitative research to kids. Well presented, easy to understand, the concept is used frequently in college, and daily at many jobs including businesses and sciences. Activities have readers counting along, making decisions, and there's a bit of a 'choose your own adventure'. Practice opportunities at every turn, but interesting for children to find engaging. Questions also help guide thoughtful consideration. If anyone is looking for ways for education to be more fun, this is it!

“I like it because he’s a detective and I like it because he likes Lego and Minecraft and I like Lego and Minecraft. I like how there was a guy with a face that was a TV. I like how his mom asked him to count for quantitative data.”

This was a fun book! My 3yo kiddos is just getting into math. He's such a curious one and loves asking a lot of questions. He's been asking a lot of questions about numbers recently and this was a great addition to his current interests. I thought that the story itself was fun while integrating the concept of qualitative and quantitative math in an approachable, easily understandable way. It was very engaging throughout the book. The illustrations are great too. Lovely book overall to add to our math collection.

What a perfect book for young and curious minds. Full of incredible inspiration and a protagonist who is the cutest ever.

We meet William, and he wants to be a date detective. Taking inspiration from his mom, who is a bright mind as well, both will motivate each other to solve problems and we will go on a carnaval adventure with William. I love the strong connection they have and how they cheer for each other. Also, the illustrations were so fun and colorful, it truly makes you part of the story.
