Teshuvah is a Hebrew word and corresponding concept which denotes and embodies the act of repentance. Teshuvah entails the two-fold act of turning away from that which defiles the heart, and thereafter returning-to a place of purity of heart. King David's "key" to returning to a place of purity of heart was that in and through his heart of contrition before the Lord.
