Learning to count by fives with starfish on the beach - nice art. You could take this book to the beach, read it with a small child, and then start counting things together. I think it is really fun when you find a way to link an activity to a book you have just read. Gives the child a real world application of what they have just learned.

This book encourages county by five as more and more starfish join in the fun. Numbers are also portrayed with dominoes on the corners of the illustrations. The rhyming may appeal to young learners.
