He was the monster in her nightmares, and he knew it.
Her grandfather had tortured him and made him into a monster - part vampire, part shifter, part goddess-only-knew what. He wasn’t what a naive young woman like Cassandra needed. Even if she was the mate given him by the goddess he so despised.
He’d promised to keep his distance and had kept that vow for over a year - until something yanked Cassandra into another world.
Now Nalik will do anything to keep her safe. Even if that means he has to claim his mate to do so....
Calle Jaye is fun, playful, ironic, professional and sophisticated. She’s super-educated in the field of fiction and would spend most of her time walking around in “Book World” (or”eBook World”).
Does she have slight control freak tendencies? Yep. Why else would she chose to self-publish?
In her day job she gets to read romance novels. In her night job she gets to write them!
Her favorite color is bold purple. She likes rock like Kid Rock, Shinedown, and Nickelback. Add in a bit of Anastacia and Adelle, too.
She collects rocks. Watches crime dramas. Abhors Lifetime Movies and Titanic (especially Leo…) and refuses to read or write about sparkly teen vampires.
She’s married to a cop she strongly suspects is a vampire. They’ve made vampire babies, too.
They live in Indiana with their vampire relatives and their vampire dogs.
I really enjoyed Cass and Nalik's story. They are both carrying wounds and fears that have crippled them emotionally. Once Nalik is finally willing to acknowledge his bond with Cassandra, they learn how perfectly they fit together and make one another whole. There were lots of revelations and more intrigue in the story line. Past characters are still intimately involved and new characters are nicely incorporated into the on going saga. I would highly recommend reading the entire series in order. Adult read
I like the storyline a lot...but the editing remains a huge detriment to the overall enjoyment. For that reason, I will continue to downgrade her books.
