Lost Lands: The Game - Atlantis

Rate this book
When Mac logged into Lost Lands on his computer one Friday night, he had no idea how much that one event would change his life. Grouping up with his online friends, he had an enjoyable night of gaming and even completed the Tomb of Immortality. However, at the end of the dungeon they meet a strange wizard with a compelling offer to ‘Beta Test’ a new expansion. Since every gamer dreams of being the first to explore new areas, they agree. Nonetheless, they were not ready for what came next. Mac and his friends find themselves pulled into the game and that they have become their avatars. At first, it is exciting until they realize that they are trapped inside the game. When they find themselves attacked, the Outlanders quickly realize how dangerous their new reality can be. Vowing to return home, the survivors set off to find the legendary city of Atlantis in hopes that the Dragon Kings may know of a way back to the real world. The Outlanders soon discover that they aren’t the first gamers to be pulled into game, just the latest. But more than that, they have become pawns between two rival wizards in a long standing feud. Can the Outlanders survive the game world long enough to return home?

Drew, short for Andrew, was born in Munich, Germany while his father was stationed overseas with the US Army. Growing up a military brat, Drew became an avid reader with Fantasy, Science Fiction and Detective Thrillers being his favorite genres.

Drew served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1982-88 and began training in TaeKwonDo in 1985. After leaving the service, he moved back to his hometown of Chattanooga, TN and tried his hand at college. It wasn't for him but he did find that he had a knack (and love) for teaching TaeKwonDo. In 1994, he moved to Louisville Kentucky to open his own studio and taught for 11 wonderful years where he met (and married) his wife, Felicia.

However everything has a season and in 2005, he closed his studio and switched careers. He currently works as a Corrections Officer with Louisville Metro and writes in his spare time. Unable to live on the beach, he resides on a farm with his wife and animals: 6 cats, 3 dogs and 2 horses.

Really entertaining read. I look forward to reading the next. If you have ever played a Role playing game you will love this book.
Why only 4 stars? I had to take off a star as the potential of several good female characters was not realized. The women cooked while the men patrolled, the men fought hand to hand while the women we at the back and of course they all had to be stunningly beautiful.

Engaging enough to warrant purchasing the next in the series.
