About the author

In 2016, Johnny Ray 'Ushaka Isaroq-Bey' Walls-Bey founded House of Bey, A Publishing and Production Company (HOB). Since then, he has built a media empire that includes everything from Broadcast OTT Television Stations, Comic Books, Mobile APPS, Radio Stations, Record Labels, and OTT platforms that are transforming our business.

In 2017, Mr. Walls-Bey Incorporated House of Bey Inc, (HOB) which encompasses all of the original business units from his (MMI) banner, upon which he has built and expanded.

But it all started with a young sports entertainer, producer and entrepreneur named Johhny Ray Walls-Bey. From childhood, selling his uncle's Isaiah Thomas's Isaiah Thomas Chocolate bars while growing up on Chicago's westside, Johnny Ray became a student of entrepreneurship. He would start selling candy, candles, cookies, and chips, between summers waiting on those Isaiah Thomas chocolate bars and pretend he was Warren Buffet of selling snack foods. Isaiah Thomas, Master P, Sean Carter (Jay-Z), Tyler Perry, Daymond John, Jeff Bezos, and Booker T whom he watched create their businesses from the ground up were his role models. Each had a profound influence on the young boy. Johnny Ray Walls-Bey made his first appearance on Man Vs. Food Nation Season 4 Episode 2 Starring Adam Richman and WWE's Tag Team Legends Brain Knobbs and Jerry Sags (The Nasty Boys) airing June 1, 2011 and that very successful act catapulted his career. Through the 2010’s he appeared on several prominent wrestling TV shows and live acts. He honed his relationships with celebrities, Media Personalities, Recording Artists and businessmen around the country and began creating his own programming and media distribution network.

By the early 2020 he had amassed a sizable library of cooking shows, talk shows, car shows, comedy specials and celebrity interviews that all gave him the spark to establish Moorish Media Inc.

In the late 2023, HOB ventured into the lucrative Online Radio programming business and, while-at first skeptics questioned Walls-Bey’s decision, they quickly realized his foresight. Today, HOB owns and operates three Online Radio stations shows for first run syndication and its OTT channels. While plunging into the Cook Show, talk show, and car show genres, Johnny Ray Walls-Bey simultaneously started negotiating with Connect To Your City to launch several new OTT channels. At that moment, the Moorish TV, LLC and Plugged TV Global, LLC divisions were born. Today, with the addition of MOORISH MEDIA ENTERTAINMENT which Walls-Bey founded with Flipmode Squad member Roger 'Rampage' McNair in January 2021, HOB can boast one of the largest media distribution network portfolios in the industry, featuring 12, 24-hour HD media distribution networks (MOORISH TV, PLUGGED TV GLOBAL, HOUSE OF BEY NETWORK, MOORISH RADIO, PLUGGED RADIO, MOORISH RADIOLIVE365, MOORISH MEDIA ENTERTAINMENT, USHAKA INTERNATIONAL, MOORISH ISLAND, THE MOORISH TIMES, THE HOUSE OF BEY TIMES, and USHAKA INTERNATIONAL MARKETPLACE).
