The camerawork of Ken Bell, plus the photographers of this work, was impressive. Many photos include a before (during WWII) and after (in the 1980s) to show how battlegrounds have changed, which is a powerful way of showing how far these places have changed, or stayed the same after 1943–1945. What I liked most was the combat photos, as they were likely censored by both Allied and German media and were brought to light here.
I recommend this book to all WWII learners. This is certainly a book for the coffee table in your living room.
