This was fine and quick to read, but feels very surface level. There's not a lot of detail or examples given so while some of it is useful, I'll be looking for something more in-depth. Maybe a good starting point though.

The book really mentions the unique challenges that are faced by both parents and children affected by ADHD. But what I loved is that it actually offers practical strategies to address these challenges effectively. It contains 48 strategies covering everything from behavior management to creating ADHD-friendly spaces, this guide equips parents with the tools they need to support their child's development and well-being. I work with children and I can assure you that the tips provided by this book are crazy helpful. This book manages to deconstruct myths and stereotypes surrounding ADHD, and fosters a deeper understanding of the condition, allowing parents to better advocate for their children and provide them with the support they need to thrive. Krissa Laine does a phenomenal job with "How to Parent Children with ADHD With 48 Techniques and Strategies." This book is a 148 resource with valuable and useful information. It draws attention to one of the most notable disorders affecting children and adults alike. As someone with no direct dealing with the disorder, but a former educator, this book offers sound information that takes the reader from defining the disorder, and recognition of indicative signs, to methods that will assist with better understanding, dealing with, and connecting with those who strive to live life with Attention Hyperactivity Disorder. The book presents a breakdown that is easy to understand. And Lane even offers several bonus tools and activities. While this book caters to parents with children, it provides a resource for various target groups to gain information and expand their knowledge base. As a reader, I gained a deeper understanding of ADHD and its impact on a child’s success. Laine does a phenomenal job, and it is a guide that parents should add to their collection of resources.
This book is a comprehensive guide that dispels many myths and provides insight into parenting children with ADHD. She debunks gender stereotypes and offers practical advice. The important message for me is at the beginning of this book. The author debunks the myths and gender stereotypes saying girls, “struggles may be mistaken for character traits common to their gender”.
This book was very educational for me. I thought a brain scan was the only way to identify ADHD. I worked with kids for many years, and I thought a kid’s home environment led to ADHD.
Laine offers hope, and practical strategies for parents facing the challenges of parenting a child with ADHD. The author gives good advice for parenting and self-care. For the kids, structured environments, routines, positive reinforcements, and communication. For the parents, self-care and managing stress. Plus a QR bonus at the end of the book.
Though the book is short, I took my time reading through it. I found myself not very engaged, partly because of the way the information was presented and partly because it was primarily a surface overview. I think some visuals and charts would be useful (e.g. “quick-takes”). While there are some helpful general strategies, I was really hoping to get more real-life examples of some of the struggles parents of children with ADHD face and some very specific tools, strategies, and dialogue. In Chapter 2 of the book, there are several examples of real-life struggles, which are presented as an exercise for those reading to reflect on. However, it seems a missed opportunity that there is no follow-up or suggestions for those specific scenarios. It feels like it leaves you hanging. This could be a good first quick book for someone just starting to learn about ADHD, but it doesn’t offer much beyond surface level.
More is known these days about ADHD than ever before. However, that does not necessarily translate to the parents of children with this condition being able to deal with their behavior any better. If a parent does not fully understand this diagnosis, they will be ill prepared to help their child, and the experience is sure to frustrate both individuals.
That’s what this book is meant to prevent. The author explains what it’s like for a child with ADHD to interact with the world. If a parent can get inside the child’s mindset, they will be better able to comprehend the way they learn, and also what limitations they have that can prevent their maturation.
So many children have received this diagnosis in modern times. This book should be required reading for any parents who feel overwhelmed or unable to cope with their child who is struggling either behaviorally or academically.
This is a game-changer for parents navigating the challenges of raising neurodivergent children. The book not only empathetically delves into the intricacies of ADHD but also provides actionable techniques that are nothing short of transformative. The author’s approach is compassionate and practical, making it accessible for parents seeking tangible ways to understand and support their child's unique journey. The strategies presented are not just theoretical; they are grounded in real-life scenarios, making them immediately applicable. What sets this book apart is its focus on emotional regulation, focus, and self-control – crucial aspects often overlooked in parenting guides. It's a valuable resource that empowers parents with tools to nurture their child's strengths while addressing the challenges of ADHD. Highly recommended for its insightful guidance and tangible solutions.
I learned a lot about identifying ADHD and providing a supportive environment for a child who has ADHD, from this book. It isn’t always easy being a parent, let alone a parent with a child/children with special needs. Krissa Laine offers 48 tips and strategies to navigate the world of ADHD with your child. For example, I learned about the importance of something as simple as a consistent routine, and different strategies on how to communicate better with my child. But Krissa also reminds us about self-care. As important as it is to be a Caretaker, it is just as important to take care of ourselves. I think we all need this reminder every now and then. Great book!
I do not have children and even if I decide I want some, it will be a long time before I have any, but I am looking at several teaching jobs and could potentially work with kids. I have several friends with ADHD and while I do not particularly have ADHD or a diagnosis of any kind, I think it is beneficial to learn about certain methods of dealing with certain aspects of ADHD. For example, I have adapted the pomodoro method into my daily life for focus and getting work done. In fact, I am in the middle of one as I write this. Overall, this book is well written and easy to read. It was very kind and addressed both the good parts and challenges of ADHD that I think more people should be aware of, especially parents of children with ADHD.

This book was full of meaningful techniques and strategies to help guide us as parents with our children with ADHD. There were some great opening explanations about what an ADHD mind is like and what it needs. I agreed wholheartedly with those explanations, bit a main point in ADHD children is that they must have a kinetic outlet. We cannot expect any child, with or without ADHD to be expected to have this unnatural imbalance of energies. There needs to be an outlet there.
As a teacher I have read plenty of material as regards this field, and I can assure that this book is from now on one of my favorites. The author not only presents a wonderful perspective, but also writes about it in a specific, gentle, and thoughtful way. I love the fact that all along the book the main aim is to empower kids. To me, this is the key point to a successful outcome in both the classroom and life itself.
I have read this book carefully, because I have a friend who has a son with ADHD and I see how it affects his entire family. I found the exercise very useful that allows parents to determine, in the first instance, the signs that children with ADHD present. As well as the explanation of how to manage behavior. I also highlight from the book the development of types of routine to sustain over time. I think it is a guide book for families that have members who have ADHD.
This is an invaluable resource for parents navigating the complexities of raising a child with ADHD. As a parent myself, I've often felt overwhelmed by the unique challenges presented by my neurodivergent child. I particularly appreciate the emphasis on creating an ADHD-friendly environment. Laine offers insightful tips on everything from sensory-friendly spaces to establishing effective routines that promote calmness and focus.

This book was perfect for me. My child was recently diagnosed with ADHD and I felt lost. I am so happy to learn more about the diagnosis and feel like my world isn’t over. I feel positive on our outlook facing this journey.
A big part of children with ADHD can be an adventurer at themselves This book helps understand your child and how to be the best parent. This teaches you how to manage behaviors and improve your kids emotional regularities and focus on building their self esteem.
A good introduction in parenting children with ADHD. It was short and very practical. If you've been in it for awhile, this might be old news to you. But I still took away a few things to try to implement.
AI written nonsense. Google the author’s name and her photo. Neither exist. Nor does her publishing company. A ridiculous con job on an audience that deserves REAL information from REAL people. It’s not okay.
