I picked up this journal last week, and I’m loving it so much already! The more I delve into it, the more I appreciate its details and intentionality. What really stands out is that it feels like both a cohesive journey (the way sections are organized thematically) and a collection of prompts that work well on their own.
I’ve tried many journals over the years but struggle to stay consistent and committed. Something about this book has drawn me in and I find myself carrying it around with me most days. The reflections and quotes are powerful companions to the prompts, which gently, but firmly, push you to look at yourself and reexamine your conscious and subconscious beliefs. My favorite section so far is Part 2: Being Present in Your Body, which resonates deeply with me in the way it calls you back to yourself.
I first encountered some of these prompts during one of the author’s in-person retreats and later in some online writing circles, and it’s been incredible to revisit them here in written form. The journal manages to capture that same sense of guidance and depth that I experienced in person, which makes it feel both personal and expansive.
I think it’s most powerful when you write directly in it, but even reading the introductions to each chapter sparks new reflections. The physical book is also well-designed: light enough to carry, with thick enough pages that ink doesn’t bleed through. I’d recommend this journal to anyone looking to connect more deeply with themselves—especially if you’ve struggled with consistency in the past. Beautiful. This book is just beautiful. It is a retreat--retreat from the world into the pages of reflection, encouraging the user to read, reflect, breathe, and just exist. And then to record what comes. The prompts are open-ended, allowing the participant to engage as much or as little as is natural, either in words, art, or in whatever way fits. I use it as a small space in my day to take time for myself and reflect, but it is flexible in how and how often it is used. Use it how it suits you best!

This book is an eye opening experience for the reader to remember who they are. I attended one of the author's (Aimee Hansen) writing retreats and it is undeniably one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. I know that this book is lovingly created and it asks the questions that will allow you to tap back into your intuition.
