Lake is a street-savvy American Omega with a mysterious past. Antal is a psycho criminal Hungarian Alpha. Both are wolf-shifters whose only common language is blood-lust and steamy sex. Who said romance is dead?
Lake is bullied into serving the three Alpha crime bosses who have commandeered the Club for the night. The situation gets bad when the police lock them in while hunting an escaped killer, and even worse when the Omega goes into heat. These Alpha-holes don’t even speak English.
Gunfire and dead bodies propel Lake into an exciting but dangerous adventure of lusty exploits, abductions and assassinations, a psychotic lover, her first plane ride, a castle in Hungary, an amazing emotional journey for an abandoned foundling shifter, a shocking revelation, and a fan club.
This standalone has a HFN - maybe even a HEA – ending, hard to be sure when the lovers share a psychosis of violent, lusty affection.
Based on feedback from Booksprout reviewers I decided to move my fun spanky books to a pen name: Lucy Lafferty.
Lori Laidlaw writes about men who are unfeeling and cruel until the heroine melts the ice from their hearts and turns them into OTT possessive touch-her-and-die alphas.
Lucy writes teasing stories of dominant men giving their brats well-deserved OTK spankings. Then the sexy fun begins!
I can understand alternating POV’s - but to go from one main character, to another, to third person ? Why didn’t it just alternate between the two. There are giant lapses in time as it fasts forward awkwardly thru time. And it’s a bit jarring. And the detail in some scenes but not in others. It’s wholly unsexy there’s yes build up or preamble into the sex scenes.
WTF what a book. I naturally have a dark personality and like darker themes. Not only in books but in life. So Lake aka Tó and Antal's story was very enjoyable for me. They definitely have that psycho kind of love. I would have really enjoyed finding out what his older brother thought of him marrying a princess. Since his older brother took his first fiancée. And I really hope they'll be more books. And that I get more of them in the future.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
