In the bible, God instructs us how to pray and sometimes who and what to pray for in our prayer time. There are also several examples of powerful prayers in the bible. These prayers range from requesting intervention, prevention of doom, protection, healing, guidance, and blessings. In his book, Mike Shreve presents ten prayers from the bible to illustrate the range, depth, and breadth that prayers can take.
The shorter book will help the believer to pray through the dissection of these ten prayers. Prayers must include acknowledgement of the nature, promises and righteousness of God. Prayer is an admission of human limitations and an acknowledgement of divine power. Among the truths brought forth in this is that prayer is one of the most powerful weapons that we who are believers have in our arsenal against evil.
The author's shared personal faith sojourn is illustrated by his own prayers and challenges. This brought the message of the book home. This personal connection helped me to treasure it more. In closing, I encourage all who want to further connect with God through stronger prayers.

Great book!
Selections of prayers from Scripture are good and very well explained. Personal stories are great examples, one even brought tears to my eyes. I enjoyed this book very much. I intend to make some prayer cards with the main points from each as reminders, since I have the Kindle version. Very useful information.

This book had me writing prayers to God using words spoken by ancient people in the Bible. I feel empowered now that when I pray, my prayer will make a difference. I enjoyed this book and will continue looking up prayers in the Bible and modifying them for my situation.
