A disturbing case, that happened in the '80's. A young woman, Sandra van Raalte, is found murdered in a changing booth in a clothing store. She was at work there that day. They convict the wrong man, Rob van Zaane. On appeal he gets acquitted, but he did spend two years in jail. Only in 2002 they discover who the real killer is, because of found DNA material. By then, that man wasn't alive anymore. He did spend time in jail before, but never for this case. He basically got away scot-free.

This case isn't only about murder, evidence, suspects, events leading up to the murder and what happened after, but also about tunnelvision.
Sometimes police just has caught sight of the wrong guy. That happened also in this case. Thank god for science and DNA.

The book isn't only about Rob van Zaane, it's also with him. On the book it's stated: with cooperation of Rob van Zaane.

Some cases stick with you after you heard and read about them. This is one of them that stuck with me. I'm glad they found the real killer eventually, but it could've happened sooner than it did. The real killer practically handed himself on a silver platter, but somehow he still slipped through the cracks.
