Wow! Finally a story with spankings! Lady Eleanor Girard is kidnapped by her own fiancé to be given to the Viscount to pay off his gambling debts. She, of course, is not happy about this and lets him know. So, Lord Grange gives her her first spanking in the carriage while still tied and gagged. When she is brought into the Viscount’s home, she views scenes that she has never imagined. Women naked being taken and being spanked. And, despite herself, she is aroused by the scenes. Finally, the Viscount wishes to see her naked and, of course, she objects. The Viscount goes to whip her and she is rescued by Lord Drake.
Lord Drake is taken by Eleanor, but he needs to be seen as ruthless. So, he whispers to her to obey while he strips her and then spanks her. Eventually brings her to orgasm in front of the other men. What ensues is a wonderful story that I wish had been longer. There are spankings galore. And other shocking things! LOL
I highly recommend this story. It is well written and the characters have depth to them. And, of course, there is a happy ending!

Elanor has gotten into a really bad spot and the person she trusted enough to agree to marry is the person who put her there. She is treated so harshly and yet she finds herself responding. Lord Drake seems to be in with the whole bunch yet is different and she finds that she does trust him. But in the end can they both agree that that they want the same thing or does she have to choose between seeking love or being content without. This one is a very dramatic historical.

He is in fear of his life and will give his future bride over to save his own neck. He strips her and spanks her before arriving at the Viscount's den of sin.
Lord Drake Morgan is in attendance when Lady Gerard is brought in to the Viscount. She is to be placed on a "bride's auction" to the highest bidder. Lord Drake is allowed by the Viscount to determine if indeed Lady Gerard is a virgin. He whispers her to behave and go along with everything he does to her, but he still takes a firm hand of control. And does he ever control her, and awaken her to her sexual desires.
Lord Drake is working undercover when the Viscount's home is raided. The women held are taken into protective custody, but some of the men, including the Viscount and a few other get away. Lady Gerard is shot trying to protect Lord Drake. He takes her home to recover and informs her she will be his wife, but that there will be no love, because love comes with too high of a price.
Lady Gerard is a high spirited and feisty woman who needs and received a firm hand of control by Lord Drake. She learns that love does come with a bare bottom spanking. It is well written and the story flows very nicely with a HEA ending!

I received this book as part of Blushing Books “ARC” program in exchange for an honest review.
Lady Gerard is kidnapped from her home by her finance’ and given off to The Viscount to settle a debt. She is outraged, as well she should be, but takes an interest in Lord Drake. She notices how he seems concerned for her as she is brought into a room full of men and examined.
Her humiliation turns to confusion as Lord Drake whispers in her ear to trust him. Unbeknownst to Lady Gerard he must go through the motions of spanking her and bringing her to orgasm to keep his cover. She is deeply aroused by his touches though her ordeal has left her feeling used.
This scene plays out for numerous chapters. The descriptions are good but not varied enough for details of her body and positions. There are several paragraphs in a row that use the same words and actions over and over. This distracted me away from the story which is unfortunate since I contacted very quickly to both main characters.
After the one extended scene, aside from Lady Gerard’s capture and delivery to The Viscount, there are only a few more scenes before the end. This left so many unanswered questions. I feel if Lord Drake’s point of view had been included it would feel more complete.
Overall very well written but not much action outside of how Lady Gerard reacts to her examination. A strong three point five star rounded up to four, short read. I will definitely try another title by Arabella Kingsley.

Maybe this just wasn't my cup of tea. If you like erotica and you like spankings, then this will definitely be for you. However, I found it a little boring: the sex, subplot, and characters were all somewhat bland. I understand there is pressure to make characters connect quickly in a novella, but I thought the love between the two main characters came out of nowhere--and it felt a tad Stockholm Syndrome in some respects, but that might just be me. It's a quick read though, so if you're looking for smutty (somewhat predictable) smut to fill an afternoon, this will do it.

I suffered a great deal with this heroin! She was kidnapped, wronged, sold, held captive, shot, abused, piched by servants (!), well, no matter how she responded to it, it was a luttle too much for me!

A short 75 page book, but a nice few hours of entertainment with a light weight story line. Very mild BDSM in a historical romance setting.

The writing gets an F. Really bad. The titillation factor gets an A for some scenes. So overall I'll give it 2 stars.
