Amruta, a novel is one of the earlier works of Raghuveer. In Amruta, The author explores functional aspect of human life. Amruta is the story of Amruta and two men in her life. It races human nature, bonds and ideologies using these 3 characers and their conversation.
Author seems highly influenced by Dostoevsky, Kafa , Camus. The plot is almost absent , the characters lack depth and too much flowery language used by each character makes it even more dull. Each character lives in his or her dream world. A piece of fiction whether literary or popular, without a plot is body without a soul. Otherwise we have piles of non fiction stuff available if we want to study individualism and stream of consciousness. Except some sparkling moments here and there, overall this book is meh.. !
Frinds who discuss almost everything and are transparent in their behaviours and words. Accepting the differences of each other and yet celebrating the differences with deep love and respect. Story of the Amruta, Udayan and Aniket am already started missing them after completing the 'અમૃતા'.
I completed Amrita last week. I started the book with a lot of excitement, but my interest had a few ups and downs throughout the reading. The language is a little difficult, not because of the words themselves, but because of their meaning. You need to think twice about each conversation and letter.
The author has described the characters in great detail. Actual events in the story are few, but the characters’ thoughts about those events, about each other, and about themselves are very deep and comprehensive. The story builds curiosity and ends with a sense of pain and emotional intensity.
Personally, after reading this book, my perspective toward girls has changed.
I've never read such vivid and meaningful description of events and disposition of the characters than ones in this book. Broadly, the story is largely uneventful. This book in a large sense is about the thought patterns and value systems adopted by characters and what goes on in their minds after various situations. Raghuveer Chaudhary's writing is very intelligent, thought provoking and immersive. Writer contradicts himself in some places. Characters' thoughts on life, freedom of choice and existentialism are interesting and gripping but become tedious and lengthy at times. That doesn't make you any less curious about the future of the characters. It binds you with the journey of Udayan, Amruta and Aniket until the end. Overall, it is a very well written book and a blissful read.
Amazing book, toughest Hindi I have ever read.. I think I need to read the book again. Simple and practical approach of writer present some simple yet complex meaning of life. Some of the conversation in the book are breath-taking, makes you think what writer is saying.
