Before anything was made. Before we did anything good or bad. Before we made a decision, or even took a breath. God knew us. God chose us. God loved us.
This book was awful. Sure, it expressed God's love, but it would rip so many verses out of context and gave no real supporting evidence to any claims that he made. On top of that it said at one point that we are equals with God.
"He created us, not because God wanted more worship, or needed another creature to satisfy His ego, he doesn't have one. He wanted to make a creature that so exactly matches His own image, that He would have an equal partner to share the universe with."
"His name is 'God with us' because there is no such thing as God without us!"
That is all absolutely false. We are not His equals. We were created so that we could bring Him praise and glory. And there is definitely God without us because He was without us for all eternity past before He created the Earth.
Not Quite Right. Let's say simply I disagreed on some theological points. I didn't even finish the book because I was spending more time refuting some of his statements. And since I don't read to argue, I thought it best to move on to something else. It's encouraging, hence the 2 starts, but may mislead someone new to faith.
This is a fantastic and short book. It sums up the love of God in a clear way that I thoroughly enjoyed. It stirred up in me a desire to love and please God more.
The book is all about the love God poured out for us. Short and simple, easy to read, but I miss the empowerment and next steps as a result of this outrageous love.
