Some decent tips in here for people looking to buy or sell their home. The chapters detailing the buying process and the role of estate agents would be particularly useful for both first-time buyers and folks looking to move home. The differences in the process between Scotland and the rest of the UK were also interesting. However, some of the info and web links are out of date and there are better resources online.
What lets this book down massively is the editing which consequently lowers my opinion of the usefulness and accuracy of the information provided. There are sentences which just stop, spelling mistakes throughout and horrific punctuation. Sometimes it felt more like reading a GCSE student's essay than a published book.
Overall, the author might be a "prolific writer and lecturer", but I'd suggest perhaps a look through "The Straightforward Guide to Spelling and Grammar" next. And sack your editor.
