This was the Advent devotional selected by the church I attend. It was not for me. The dating was off because they wanted to start with the Sunday of each week. That left the Christmas devotional tacked on the end as an after thought. Also the week only had devotionals from Sunday through Thursday. Fridays were a review and Saturdays were completely omitted. A personal dislike was the author's writing style. We read this aloud as a family and the author's writing was not easily read.

Although I didn’t stay fully on schedule (this is an advent book) it was so impactful! Highly recommend even out of season!

TECHNICALLY I didn't read the whole book, just up to Tuesday, Dec. 24. I thought the ideas about Ruth and Naomi there at the end got kind of off topic.
