A quick guide that outlines early life's expenses. All stuff I had to learn on my own because my parents did not talk to me about money.

This is a refreshing break from the typically awful, text-heavy non-fiction librarians and educators are used to for this audience! More appealing cover than most previous titles on the topic, this will be a great curriculum text or programming aid, especially for the hot topic of financial literacy. The book has very practical; easy to follow guides on topics such as “wants vs. needs”, student loan borrowing, and a personal budgeting sheet. Chapter topics also touch on formerly taboo or un-discussed topics such as the value of volunteering and danger of “emotional spending”. Bright, eye-catching photos are thoughtfully crafted between text boxes that weigh pros and cons of various decisions; a brief but actually timely and helpful list of further resources finished out this title. I only wish I had something this practical to read in my teen, or even college years!
