Richard Morgan can’t believe his father is considering a rival candy company’s offer to buy out the family business that he loves. Though the confections division is tiny compared to the family’s other ventures, it’s close to his heart. Maybe too close, since the thought of losing it feels like losing his mother all over again. Convinced it’s the best way to continue the Morgan legacy, his father offers Richard control of the company if he’ll secure the family name with a marriage. After a messy, public divorce, marriage is the last thing Richard wants to consider, but according to his father, it’s the only way.
Yvette Cruz is the beautiful, savvy mergers and acquisitions rep charged with brokering the buyout agreement between her company and Morgan Confectioners, and Richard Morgan is the only thing standing between her and the promotion she desperately wants. She came from nothing and worked her way to the top of her field, so she’s not about to let his refusal to cooperate stop her from getting what she wants.
Corporate rivalry gives way to an unwise attraction when the two meet and spend a night together that ultimately changes their lives forever. Two enemies find love, but a betrayal threatens to tear them apart. Forgiveness and redemption can lead to everything they’ve ever wanted, but some things can’t be forgotten.
This was such an awesome story of romance it had be lost a world of romance so sweet I could taste the sweet among the sour.
The book tells of Richard and how he is prepared to fight to the very end to keep his family business. All he has to do is meet his father's deal and the business will be his and the memory of his mother will live on.
But meeting his father's requirements is something he is not up for at all, he learned the lesson of love and failure along time and does not need a repeat.
So he focuses his energy of fighting off the company dead set on buying his family business.
Yvette has to close the best deal of her career, buying Richard's family business is all she needs to get the promotion she has been after. But Richard is placing a definite hold on her dreams, so she changes tactic and does her best to focus.
Now with both Richard and Yvette focusing on their goals they are so not expecting to both have a totally wow one night stand and definitely not with each other! It is here that the books gets super hot and super awesome.
I completely adored the characters from the start go, both had such a strong and overwhelming " Look at me!" feeling about them that I immediately fell for them both. Both characters were beautifully written and I loved how the author let them both be so strong willed and passionate about their goals yet at the same time so focused that they forgot about the bigger picture.
It showed that most of us would rather just do what makes us happy and not worry about the others we hurt along the way. We take our own faults and rather make it the fault of others, instead of manning up to and admitting we need to step back and reassess our lives.
A passionate, emotional and so sweet read , the character will forever live in my heart.
5/5 star review " The sweetest deal of their lives has just been sealed"
This is one sweet read. Richard Morgan has a life change in Vegas with Yvette Cruz from the rival candy company trying to buy his family's candy company. It was suppose to be just one night of passion. After one wonderful night of passion they try and go their separate ways . But things always have a way to bring people back together . For the worst or the better of things.. As they work their way to their happily ever after
Monica did it again . Her books are a great read full of love betrayal and redemption. Her characters are well developed and always want the best for each other. Monica's characters make you want to cheer for them and hug them tight when their hearts break. The storylines are based on real life , Which brings out the feeling of the characters even more. This story is based on candy companys. Now really who wouldn't want to read about candy company take overs. This candyacholic sure in the heck would. Yes I admit it , part of the reason I wanted to read this book , besides it being a Monica Tillery book . Was the whole candy factor. Oh and the steamy sex scenes that are in there as well. Sex and candy what more could a girl want. LOL
This is a quick read for those summer days by the pool. catching some rays . Or for those rainy days that we will be having soon enough. So if you want a great summer read. while lounging eating your summer candy. Check out SWEET DEAL . You won't be disappointed
I loved this book. It's one of my favorites from Monica Tillery that I have read so far.
One night in Vegas can change your life, or so it did for Richard Morgan and Yvette Cruz. Richard's family candy business is the target of a rival company wanting to buy them out. Yvette is the one in charge of negotiating the buyout. From what Richard hears, she is ruthless and will stop at nothing to get what she wants. They both meet at the convention in Las Vegas and sparks fly between the two leading to a night of passion because of a bet. I can't get into too many details without giving away the story. All I can say is you have to read this book. It has all the elements of a great story. Passion, steamy scenes, excitement, sadness, and happiness all rolled into one.
Both characters are intelligent, headstrong and bruised, one by a divorce, the other by a childhood illness and a repressive but loving family.
An adversarial business relationship brings Richard and Yvette together but passion and its consequences bind them. The relationship starts off in the heat of anger, morphs into lust but misunderstandings arise. Once they finally get it together, manage some level of trust and understanding, it all comes crashing down and they have to pick up the pieces, swallow their pride and fear and give themselves over to love.
Wonderful story, realistic characters and top-notch writing.
I absolutely hated this book! The main characters were overly ambitious and deceitful individuals who The main characters never communicated with one another to the degree necessary by the turn of events that happened in the book, and misunderstandings abounded because of it. I'm now very leery of reading other books by this author and will be deleting this one from my Kindle library!
In A Sweet Deal by Monica Tillery, Richard Morgan has worked very hard to help keep the family business working at it’s best. But the one closest to his heart is the one that began with his mother, Morgan Confectioners.
So when his father tells him that he is considering selling their candy company a rival company since it’s not making as much money as their other ventures, Richard will do anything he can to keep him from selling. Including getting married again and giving his father what he wants, the one thing he swore he would not do again after his mistake of a marriage.
Yvette Cruz is one of the best mergers and acquisitions rep in her company, and he has been charged with brokering the buyout with Morgan Confectioners. She has been working very hard to convince Mr. Morgan to sell, but when his son Richard gets wind of things, things start to cool off towards her being able to make the buyout.
Richard believes that Yvette is a flirt that will do anything to get her way and is just playing his father to get his company. But he will do everything in his power to stop the sell. To start he will meet with her at the Vegas convention and let her know that he will not allow the sell to go through. But once he lays eyes on her, he finds her irresistible and hard to get out of his mind.
One hot night together will bring unforeseen consequences. Yvette soon finds herself pregnant with Richard’s baby, and Richard finds the solution to his problem. He can marry her and have the family his father is asking for in order to turn over Morgan Confectioners to him.
What begins as a solution and easy plan, soon turns into more. And Richard finds himself falling for Yvette, but the right decision made for the wrong reasons will come to bite him is the ass, and he will have to find a way to prove to Yvette that she means more to him than Morgan Confectioners does.
If you want a hot, fun and sweet read, don’t miss A Sweet Deal by Monica Tillery.
Received this ebook in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was such a sweet book. What would you do if you were given a sweet deal like Yvette was given? I am not sure what I would do. Maybe the same decision as Yvette's if I was single and younger.
My favorite character was Yvette. A strong independent Catholic woman, who loves her parents a lot. It was drilled into her the importance of marriage and family. I am also Catholic and those were drilled into myself and brother. I have done the same thing to our children about the importance of marriage and family, but if one of my children comes to me with that conversation that they are pregnant or the girlfriend is, I would be upset, but I would help them anyway I can.
This book was about communication and compromises. I have learned this throughout my 18 year marriage. Communication and compromise are a must.
☆☆☆☆☆ I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Would I recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Would I read more from this author? Yes!
A delightful read by Monica Tillery. I love Instant Attraction stories, especially when the one you are supposed be the enemy with is the one that you can't resist.
Richard wants preserve the confectioners division of his family business even though it has been losing money. He feels like it is the last link to his mom. His dad is considering selling it to another company that wants to expand their candy business beyond chocolate and they send in their best person to convince him, Yvette. Richard and Yvette finally meet in person and think that giving in to their attraction for one night in Las Vegas will be enough.
If you are looking for a great love story, with some fun characters hoping for a HEA, in spite of challenges, misunderstanding and with some Hot chemistry, then I recommend A Sweet Deal.
Tillery is emerging as a favorite author for me. Each book I have read is better than the last one
This is a multi POV stand alone and I loved it!! This was a sweet read
I loved the characters, the story line, the dialogue, everything about this book. I had so much to it. It had heartache, deception, romance, deceit, angst, etc. A few tears were shed and heart twinges were felt.
Loved Richard. He was so easy to fall in love with. I loved watching him transition from selfish to loveable. It was a fun journey to be on. Yvette was a tough cookie and I was so happy to see her stand up for what she believed in. She was strong, thoughtful and determined to get what she wanted and if it meant doing it all on her own, she was willing to do it.
All in all, this was a great read. The story flowed really well, the characters were easy to become emotionally attached to, the dialogue and banter was well written between the characters.
A read Adam's Ambition by this author and loved those characters and these are just as great. Richard is a sexy, passionate and sometimes bratty business man whose father is ready to sell a business that's dear to his heart, his father may change his mind but their are stipulations. Yvette at first I didn't think I would like, with her flirty banter with Mr Morgan and her kind of stuck up attitude but later once you get to know her I liked her business sense and her attitude and her passion. I loved these two together, their sex was hot but what I liked most was their chemistry. The story brings you on a journey that's for sure and it has its up and downs but of course a very sweet HEA. I love this writers style, her books are sweet and romantic with a touch of sexy. 4.5 stars review by Nanee at upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com
A sweet confection of a romance. Ok. Couldn't resist. It's about candy! Ok, no, a woman working for a candy company trying to buy out another candy company division and falling in love. As their relationship deepens, emotions engage. At one point I found myself disappointed with the hero, but in the very next paragraph he is in more agony and self recriminations than I could assign so decided I really liked this guy. He stays consistent throughout and is truly worthy of the label "romance hero".
Yvette Cruz wants to buy the candy division that is owned by Richard Morgan's family, but Richard has no interest in selling. When the two meet at a convention they realize they had more in common than candy.
A Sweet Deal by Monica Tillery is a flirty, sexy and romantic book. The story between Richard and Yvette is so sweet and spicy at the same time. Richard is in the family business and one of its divisions isn't doing very well. Another company wants to come in and buy that division but Richard will have no part of it. He meets the beautiful Yvette who is trying to buy his company. Richard and Yvette navigate their working relationship and it turns into a romantic one. But nothing is that easy as it seems. The book takes you through many emotions as they find a way to work together. A Sweet Deal is beautifully written and takes you on an unforgettable journey! A must read!!
At first this story started off slow, it wasn't until Richard and Yvette first met in Las Vegas that I was drawn in. The two of them start of rocky because she wants to buyout part of his company and he doesn't want anything to do with her. With a simple roll of dice, they have a night to remember and feelings start to become real. It's hard to have a relationship with a big elephant in the room, what to do about work? Will the growing love between the two of them be enough or will work always cause tension in this becoming of a relationship. Love, betrayal, forgiveness, this is a book you won't want to miss.
I loved this sweet story with just a touch of heat! Richard and Yvette are business enemies, but then when they finally meet....FIREWORKS happen! The characters in this story are so very well written. I am originally from Pennsylvania and spent a lot of time in Reading and Philadelphia, so I loved those references! It was refreshing to read a sweet story with some heat that didn't seem like the story was just written as a background for the heat! I read this quickly and am looking forward to reading more from this author. This would be a great beach read or one when you just want to enjoy yourself because it is sure to bring a smile to your face!
Yvette want to acquire Richard's candy company. Richard doesn't want to. He sees Yvette and know he wants her and does everything to get away from her, including sleeping with her. Miscommunication and assumptions threaten their relationship.
They are both well rounded characters that you can relate too. I truly was routing for Richard to get the girl in the end.
