'Onamuji' is the fourth book in the action-packed Josiah Trenchard series.

Every one of these books is filled with a highly entertaining blend of action, horror and humour. This one is no different, with a zombie twist this time bringing a gory horror element which I very much enjoyed yet I found the truly chilling moments within the story of one crewmember who is basically helpless throughout. I found the level of horror in this book deeper than in the previous books and I think that has helped make this one the best in the series so far.

I have to warn these books are addictive! I love the dialogue between the characters. Their profane banter never fails to amuse me and there is plenty of this here, particularly at the beginning of the book. The fast-paced, action-packed storyline, as usual, kept me reading right to the end - once I picked up this book I didn't put it down until I was finished, and even then I was left wanting to know what happens next!

To sum up this is another exciting instalment in a fantastically entertaining series. I would highly recommend to fans of sci-fi, action and horror!

Author, Jonathon Fletcher, delivers a rock solid kick in the teeth with his latest Trenchard novel, Onamuji.

From start to finish this book took everything that was great from the previous novels and dialed it up to eleven. Hands down, this is my favorite so far. You really begin to see how the tendrils of the story arc are interlinked and connecting everything together. While, like Fletchers previous stories, Onamuji is a self contained adventure, there are still so many things yet to be discovered.

So happy that I have stumbled across this series. I am blown away by how enjoyable they are, from the characters, the setting, professional writing, and non-stop action, there is nothing in them that I do not like.

My only regret is that now that I am caught up with the series, I have to wait around like all the other chumps for the next instalment.

I have no doubt, however, that it will be well worth the wait!

Zombies

This book begins with industrial espionage. The ship " Seishi" owned by Nakamura is a science research vessel. A spy was sent onboard to steal the Onamuji samples. A fierce fight to stop the thief resulted in broken vials releasing the Onamuji into the air. The results were zombie like. Captain Trenchard and his crew were sent to find out what happened onboard the Seishi and rescue survivors. It was mayhem. This series of books is fantastic. It has everything from spies to hero's, science and the unthinkable, fierce battles, lives saved and lives lost. The mysterious Japanese assassin shows up everywhere as does the Papaver Corp. I can't wait.to get.started on the next book. This series and this book is definitely a GREAT read.

The fourth installment in the Josiah Trenchard series does not disappoint. As a standalone book it is fast-paced and full of action; yet it fits into the overall story very well, providing background for earlier events as well as expanding on the bigger picture and hinting at future threats. The close quarters combat was as intense as ever, and the space battle had me gripped. I love the way that the author plays with different sub-genres within his books.
The story is unfolding beautifully. Top marks.
