Dallas Barkley never realized the zombies walking the planet and destroying their country would be the least of her worries. Not in her darkest nightmares, not in the farthest reaches of her mind could she have imagined that the flesh eating, mindless man eaters would actually be the least of her concerns. Fighting off the zombies in an effort to reclaim her home, Dallas and company discover a different kind of nightmare...a different sort of Hell. As the country falls into disrepair, as the world outside turns its back on the once powerful United States, Dallas and Roper lead their cadre of survivors back home to California in an effort to establish another safe zone for survivors of the zombie apocalypse. What they find on their trek back is nothing less than horrifying. What they unearth as they attempt to out run the tireless zombie horde is something far more frightening than the soulless ghouls tirelessly chasing after them. As Dallas and her new family struggle to return home, they learn just what happens to a society in which there are no rules, no laws, and nothing but chaos and anarchy. What happens when men devolve into a creatures surrendering to their baser instincts? And what happens to those they feel are weaker than they are? What happens to women when men are allowed complete and total freedom to do as they wish? Who becomes the victims when society is run by Mob Rule? Dallas and Roper are about to find out.

Dallas Barkley is beginning to realize that the zombie man eaters destroying America are not her main concern. While Dallas and her friends are fighting off the zombies another kind of hell presents itself.
As America falls into ruin and there is no help forthcoming from the outside world, Dallas and her girlfriend Roper, battle on to lead their band of survivors back home to California. They need to establish another safe community for the survivors of the zombie apocalypse. Unfortunately, as they run from the rampaging zombies and wild dog packs, they come across something even more terrifying and horrendous. Dallas and her new found family are beginning to learn just what can happen when there is no law and order and the people of the country have been left to their own devices and run wild.
A group of men have banded together. They are survivalists. Anyone weaker than themselves are captured and kept totally under their control. They are unstoppable. Will Dallas and her group be captured? What happens when society has been taken over by mob rule?
Another blockbuster in this excellent, very well written, page turning series. Each book has me feverishly turning the pages until I reach the end. These books are far too short, I always want more. This is the third in this series. It can be read as a standalone, but I would strongly advise reading them in order. Not only to get the background on the characters, but you would be sorely missing out on some great books too.
Each chapter in Dallas and Roper’s fight for survival is totally different from the last. I never know what to expect. This makes for exciting reading. Just when I’ve thought ‘what more can happen, how much more can these people take’, along comes another storyline to keep me enthralled and on the edge of my seat.
I’m not sure how many of these books Linda Kay Silva has planned. But I hope it’s many more to come. I’m totally enthralled with these characters and I’m looking forward to many more adventures with them.
Surprised that the most raw and disturbing book of the series (to date) is also the most well-written and thought-provoking. It was a lot tighter than The Horde (which suffered from poor editing and too many POV changes). Is it hard to read? Absolutely. But it feels more realistic than the second book and I am eagerly awaiting the 4th book (which I assume will happen because of the semi-cliffhanger). I still like Dallas and Roper, but I adore Einstein, Hunter, and Zoe. Zoe and Hunter need their own "before they met Dallas and Roper" stories.
What did I think of Mob Rule? I think Linda Kay Silva knows how to take a scary zombie apocalypse and freak her readers out even more! Everything that has happened in the Man Eater series so far has been shown with a creepy edge of realism to what could possibly happen, but I wasn't expecting the twist when Roper, Dallas and family head out to re-find their California home. Silva has a wonderful talent for bringing characters to life and Mob Rule is no different and just maybe better than in the previous two Man Eater stories. Highly recommend this series and this installment!
Intense. That's the best word to describe the third installment in this series. I read it in practically one sitting because there simply wasn't a good place to stop. Can't wait to see what happens to the group in the next book.
