A rhythmic alphabet book captures the flavor and feeling of the early American midwest with scenes from a year in the life of a homesteader family that include such images as a butter churn, knickers, and a sewing circle. Lit Guild.
This is a quaint letter book that takes us back to the farm days of our country. Hopefully for beginner readers, it will spark some curiosity and teach a new word or two
I thought this was a good alphabet book, but in an untraditional way. The story about the prairie allows for children to learn about something that they may never get to learn about. I also liked how they did the illustrations because it helped tie the story together and get the message across to the reader. Instead of just using the letters and words, they used sentences. I liked that because it helps the children get used to reading in sentences and not just words.
Alphabet book, from A to Z. She uses words and experiences from the old west farm to help give life to each letter. This is a fun read for people who might enjoy the old country farm life, might be boring for those who would not know some of the words she uses to describe something. Nice soft illustrations cover the entire page.
