It was supposed to be a bumper deer crop for the deer hunters in the county. It turned out to be a bumper crop of dear dead men, wearing priest’s collars. It’s bad enough when you are the one finding the dead bodies. It’s plumb awful when you are the man known as Trailer Trash. Join in the often hilarious, sometimes poignant, and always entertaining, epic adventure of Trailer Trash.

You have to know that a guy who is nick-named Trailer Trash is just not going to have things go well for him. Despite being one of only two characters who possesses two firing neurons in the delightful, if dwindling cast of many, TT for short, is nearly brought down by wilful stupidity. Disguised as a murder mystery in a hick town, replete with more twists than a Twizzler and some wickedly unexpected humour, this is to me, largely, a rather sad commentary on humanity. And I use that term loosely.
We watch as unassuming and almost milquetoast TT gets deeper, and deeper into what seems like the perfect frame, until even the believers quit believing in him. As implausible as the situation is and as circumstantial the evidence, the need for someone to represent guilt and make the problem go away, trumps reason and sanity. If the whole truth of the concept behind the story wasn’t so accurate, it would be as humorous as the ineptitude of (most of) the authorities and of the town’s proverbial lemmings.
Mr. Johnson’s laugh-or-you-will-have-to-cry approach to the tale is quite perfect. There are moments where the reader gets as bogged down and hopeless about the subtext as poor TT himself, such that the humour serves as a reality check; it is what makes you take a deep breath and look for facts. It makes you pray for the Will McElroys and Marion Kirpaticks of the world to prevail. It makes you want to be patient with calm reason for the Earlene’s and Deuce’s, and it makes you want to be ever-vigilant of the subversion wrought by…well, I can’t tell you that or there is no story.
And there is a very entertaining story here too, lest I get carried away with *deeper meaning* and all that. Its a very, very smart murder mystery and while I had the guilty pinging my radar the loudest, quite early, I was never certain. And I most certainly did not expect the after shock ending.
Last, but certainly not least, I love a book that can teach me some serious life lessons while it entertains me. Lesson one: never open up a tab you can’t pay on, and Lesson two: never, never feel under the table. Ever…
This is a wonderful book written by a new Aurthor Rick Johnson. Trailer Trash This book had me laughing and crying. Poor ole Trailer Trash we will refer to him as TT for this review. TT lives in a trailer house. He owns the house and his land and his own plumbing business and an orange truck and he really loves his truck. But I think he loves banana moon pies, fried chicken livers and mud coffee( that no one else can drink). Oh yeah and he loves dogs. Bloodhounds are his favorite breed but his have all died so he is dog less and woman less at the time. Good ole TT is just trying to live a normal life. But that ain't about to happen. He lives in a small town you know the kind of town that knows when you last went to the bathroom? This town has one grocery store, one barber and one cafe. This book is written in a country style and is wonderful. Poor ole TT every time he pulls out his chicken livers something bad happens. I mean every time. Bless his heart and his truck because as of lately he gets hauled off to jail and so does his truck.( impounded that is) You see there are murders happening pretty often and TT always seem to find the body. I mean every time. When he gets out of jail he pulls those livers out to fry. This story has many twists and turns. TT learns a lot about who does and does not love him. The Author has you thinking maybe it will end this way or maybe it will go that way. But it does not end as you think it should. I was shocked. This book I will read again in the future I connected with TT and his small town. The story is funny, exciting and even sad. I want to tell TT fry up some gizzard and you might get to eat that. Poor fellow never got to eat his chicken livers. Grab this book I promise you will enjoy it. Rebecca Mills
Move over Mayberry and Cabot Cove, Rick Johnson has created a great little Town and County. With characters you are going to fall in love with. As you read the story you mighty even be tempted to picture some of the people of your own town as the characters. Well maybe not the murder? Good luck trying to figure out who did it, there are a some fun twists and turns that keep you guessing. I hope Rick Johnson had as much fun writing this as I did reading it. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!
Small town USA, there is nothing like it. You get the best gossip in small towns. If you want to know what is happening just go on down to Main Street. Stop in the Barber Shop and check in with the towns only barber Hiram Lee or hit the Heavenly Chicken Cafe and have a visit with your favorite waitress Earlene Picket. Right now you really want to hit these two places.
Trailer Trash or TT as some people call him now has the honor and pleasure of being the topic of most if not all the gossip right now. He went to get the paper to see if the local High School team the Rumbling Mustangs won their third game of the season. TT found the paper in a puddle of water but he also found a dead black Priest laying on top of the paper. Not really the way you want to start a Saturday or any other day. The days as well as the investigation that follow this discovery bring to light some of the secrets that make small towns so much fun. Enjoy *wink*
For a book that is about several murders I have never laughed so hard in my life. The story is about a small town and the main character "Trailer Trash" that gets caught up in a series of murders by just finding the bodies. The characters are just how you would imagine a bunch of good ol' boys would be. The exchange between the characters will keep you I stitches. The story is colorful and very descriptive of how a small town would be. So grab a Banana moon pie and a Dr. Pepper and find your recliner and settle in for an awesome read.

Not into Murder Mystery ..but, I have to say that I loved this book, it didn't even feel like a murder mystery which was major, especially for someone like myself.
Rick, made the story flow smoothly which I enjoyed a lot. The story was funny , full suspense and who done it, it had me at the edge of my seat wanting to know if things could get any worse for TT the main character.
I highly recommend reading Trailer Trash, you won't be disappointed
Trailer Trash was an incredibly fun book to read. The story was a wildly twisted and suspenseful murder mystery with characters like no others you've probably read before. The author created a wild mix of characters set to living in a small, southern town. Liberally sprinkled throughout the story were thought provoking and knee-slapping local sayings and inspired dialogue. My poor husband endured me saying, "Listen to this!" many times while I read this book.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I opened this book. The author is always funny so was this going to be a comedy? A mystery? Perhaps a romance? I would say all of the above in a tongue in cheek manner. It was funny, serious, mysterious and silly romantic. Set in a rural southern small town community there’s panic when people start showing up dead! What to do? Well blame the town’s failing plumber nicknamed Trailer Trash. Every page had you scratching your head. What did they say? Do people talk like that? Well head down to the rural south and check it out. This is a not to be missed book! Fun reading and you keep guessing “whodunit.”

Man is accused of killing several people. This is a small town, and rumors fly like birds. There are all kinds of people there, and they are hilarious!
