But the night takes an unexpected turn when a legendary amulet, said to hold ancient secrets, is stolen right under her watch.

In a race against time, Cassie is forced to team up with her infuriating yet irresistibly charming nemesis, archaeologist Harrison Standish. With a reputation as solid as Indiana Jones, Harrison's expertise is their only hope of unraveling the mystery. However, as they delve deeper into the world of ancient relics and hidden dangers, Harrison finds himself struggling to maintain his no-nonsense demeanor, especially with Cassie's daring spirit challenging him at every turn.

Together, they embark on a whirlwind adventure where historical secrets and simmering romance intertwine, leading them to question not just the truth behind the amulet but the true nature of their feelings for each other. Can they recover the priceless artifact before it falls into the wrong hands, and will their mission ignite a passion that's impossible to resist?

Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.

She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later discovered she had a flair for comedy and branched out to Harlequin Duets and now, to Blaze.

Lori is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She’s taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, rode in a hot-air balloon, performed with a professional jazz band, traveled Europe as a teenager, hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, bodysurfed in the Gulf of Mexico, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone.

She lives in her native Texas, with her own real-life hero, Bill.

Full of fun and excitement!

Cassie is running an important museum introduction to Solen and Kira, ancient Egyptian and Minoan lovers who were killed long ago. Harrison found Kira's burial site including half an amulet. His brother Adam found Solen's burial site also including the other half of an amulet. But Adam disappears before he can reunite the 2 halves. So Cassie and Harrison go looking for him and the amulet. They are complete opposites though and have to work hard to work things out together. Neither one trusts easily. Cassie is flighty and easily distracted. Harrison is focused and super logical. Can they manage to keep things together and find Adam and the other items? Read this to find out!

The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with an action and character oriented storyline that has some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and endearing. You will want to read these in order, but plan on being blown away. These are exciting and enjoyable adventure, mystery romances! Enjoy!

First off, this cover? 10/10. I love this type of adventurous looking cover.

The story was great too. It’s kind of a race against time situation and I love two characters forced to work together. However, the romance was cringy in spots and I really didn’t like the FMC Cassie. She was just constantly making innuendos and thinking about the MMC Harrison. This book also had one of my major pet peeves, which is a sex scene right in the middle of the action. I liked Harrison and the segments following the “mummy” as well. If this had had a little less romance, and Cassie was less forceful in throwing herself at Harrison at inopportune times, I would have rated this higher.
