This is a sad story of a woman trapped in an abusive marriage who suddenly disappears and the entire town and law enforcement knows who is responsible but is never able prove it in a court of law. The responsible person is never brought to justice.

I did not feel the book was written very well but it did appear to be thoroughly researched.

I liked this book, but I am from Guthrie Center, the town where Lillian lived when she was killed. Many of the people that were mentioned were people I knew growing up. Very good true-life crime story. Too bad for Lillian's children that it is more than just a story.

This is about a murder that took place in Iowa in the 60's. The husband is a piece of work. The richest guy in town but wouldn't give his wife a dime. But who killed her? This is a quick read at only 188 pages which includes an index.
