From the international baby whisperer Tizzie Hall comes this toddler's edition of the bestselling Save Our Sleep
In 14 years of operation, Tizzie Hall's Save Our Sleep organisation has assisted thousands of children of all ages to learn how to sleep through the night, every night. By sharing an insight into baby and toddler sleep patterns, Tizzie has developed a method of putting parents at ease about their child's behaviour and learn how to effectively combat childhood sleep and behavioural problems.
Save Our Sleep: Toddler focuses on the wealth of new information specific to sleep and behaviour in toddlerhood. The detailed advice in this book will help you learn how to deal with the tests that inevitably accompany toddlerhood and continue to enjoy a good night's sleep. I have nothing nice to say, and no one to blame but myself. Why did I give her another go?! Remind me to not pick up any more books by this ‘baby whisperer’.
If you read her first book for babies then this is pretty similar. A bit of a pick and choose what you sections you read depending on where your toddler is at.
I love the baby whisperer and used her first book to help my son learn to sleep as a baby, now as a toddler he had returned to sleeping habits that left him tired irritable and unhappy.
Within a week my 2 1/2 year old son has gone from getting up at 330-4am each day, waking 2-5 times a night and not sleeping in the afternoons to a happy little boy who gets up at 6am (perfect time for us), has a 2 hour afternoon nap, wakes only once a night and is less miserable when awake.
I am a happier, more energetic, healthier and more patient mother and wife because I am finally sleeping longer than 6 hours a night.
Our family get along better because we are no longer sleep deprived.
I am a big fan of Tizzie's approach, so after reading the first one, I found that a lot of information is just repeated, which is a bit annoying. What I love about it, is just it tells you exactly what to do, for example it terms of toilet training you will get just the instructions of how to do it, not the general information you would normally find in kids books ( like every child is ready at different age etc, which is rather not very helpful). Here you will just read what exactly to do. The same with transitioning from cot to big bed.
