Principles of Applied Civil Engineering Design

Rate this book
Consulting engineer Choi hopes that applied civil engineering design will one day be taught in a civil engineering curriculum so young engineers will not have to learn on the job. If so, he suggests his book as a textbook. Meanwhile, he explains to young practitioners and students how to prepare final design documents, but expects that more senior engineers and contractors might want to take a peek at the information now and then as well. He covers the reason for and function of the documents, construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimate. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

Lots of useful information about bidding, drawings and especially specifications as well as about working with contractors for large scale projects that I did not learn in school.
