A Little More

This book series started out very sweet. The last few books have been somewhat spicier. They still have sweet live stories but are also filled with innuendo and more details than the first books. One thing, Ginny Sterling does put trigger warnings so readers are informed. I found myself skipping a few pages here and there. Nothing is explicit but the innuendo is certainly there. The banter and double entendres are funny but a little too much for me personally.

I did like the parts of the stories that described some overseas battles. I liked the dilemmas that the women found themselves in with abusive exes. There are some redemption stories which are a favorite of mine. The books also had some unexpected pregnancies and children with disabilities as well as a child of rape. Ginny Sterling values all life. This was refreshing in today’s world. Thank you for that.

The stories could have been more impactful if the above concepts were explored more thoroughly. The author does show that community is invaluable to survival. As characters go through difficulties, others who have been there help them. These concepts are explored in small ways which made the books interesting to me.

Final Thoughts: I could have done without the prolonged discussion of a couple’s intimacy. Again, nothing is explicit, but there is a lot of innuendo. It is hard for me to rate the books because there is also a lot I like. This was more prominent in the later books. I really enjoyed the humor but could have done with a little less of the innuendo type. I really enjoyed the frank discussion about the dynamics of abuse, PTSD, dealing with injuries and chronic health problems, rape, mental disability, and other problems in an honest manner. The humor helps to lighten the subjects without diminishing the importance of them, but I like the books with less innuendo the best.

Exceptional

I have always loved series, and this author has set the bar so high it’s amazing! I’ve read about the firemen, flyboys, and the army family and traveled to Wyoming! Each book was written beautifully and the comradery in each was so special. I loved each book and hope there are more coming! Helping each other become the best they can be is heartwarming! Thank you Ginny for letting us see inside your heart!
