Love isn’t always pretty, and Navi “Nae” Richards knows this all too well. She is a ride or die to Syx, her partner of five years. When he’s arrested and ultimately sentenced to a long prison term, she remains devoted. In his absence, times are rough, but she holds it down while caring for their daughter.
Nearly three years into his bid, Syx receives good news of his time being reduced. This is music to Navi’s ears, and she anticipates being with what she hopes is a changed man. But with the prison system under new corrupt authority, it becomes too easy for Syx to jump back into the drug game. Navi loves Syx, so she compromises on his hustle but what she won’t go for is extra drama; e.g. infidelity and riding out another sentence. Syx seemingly agrees to her terms, but his actions soon make it crystal clear that Navi can’t have both him and peace of mind.
Making the decision to sever their romantic relationship for the sake of herself and their daughter, Navi sets out on a new path, vowing to never give love another chance to knock her down. Or at least that’s what she claims. However, Navi soon discovers that the heart and destiny do not always align with what the mind dictates.
I really enjoyed this read. I don’t think I laughed so much while reading. Peach and Emmy definitely stole the show. I’m glad that Navi didn’t get inside her head too much when it came to Pros, cause he is bae for real. Loved me some Meek, the definition of a ride or die friend. Overall, I loved all of the characters, almost every chapter something made me laugh. This is my first read by this author and won’t be my last.
Truly loved this story. It was refreshing to read an urban novel that didn’t go through a bunch of trauma or hurt to get to their happy ending. I loved Prosper and Navi were perfect for each other and I’m glad Navi finally realized Syx wasn’t shit.
This book was so funny and good. I've never laughed so much because of a child character. Peach and Emmy were hilarious!! Especially Peach. She made the book!! If it wasn't for her, the book would've been fluffy to me, but she made the book better with her non talking self. I'm happy Navi got her happily ever after, after she finally woke up and put her foot down when it came to Syx stupid ass. That man know he's a dog. Cheating even though he's in prison! This man cheated and hustled like he was still in the streets, but his ass was locked up🤦🏽♀️
Prosper came on the scene with that BDE. I do wish the author would've described him better. I never could picture him, but I did know he was fine from the way Navi was feeling his swag. Anyways, it was a good read. I recommend it.

My girl Ms. Nae was a firecracker. Her and Pros were such a power couple. Their start was destined to be. This book was so good! I haven't been disappointed with this author. I was laughing so hard. The story line was good. The dots all connected with a smooth vibe. I was so happy everyone got their HEA.
I enjoyed this book!!! Even though I wanted Ms. Nae to go to hell with her get back, she went with simply moving on and I can appreciate that too. I loved the interactions with the characters and the small personality quirks that made the characters shine. Peach is my girl and she's welcome anytime! One of my favorite fictional children!
This was a NTMA and I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I love when a book has me smiling and laughing out loud and these characters did just that. I've never had a toddler be my favorite character but Peach took the whole wheel and didn't stop driving ya hear me!! Would love an update on the family to see Peach in high school or college!
The title of this book definitely describes the story within. Big changes led to a life of happiness and peace. These characters met at the right time, even though the main female character couldn't see it. Their journey made for a great read and this author delivers a great storyline.
Truly loved this story. It was refreshing to read an urban novel that didn’t go through a bunch of trauma or hurt to get to their happy ending. I loved Prosper and Navi were perfect for each other and I’m glad Navi finally realized Syx wasn’t shit.
I really enjoyed how this book was written. I could imagine every scenario as it unfolded. I didn't want it to end! Reading about Navi and all her drama had me up at night.
Peach and Hot Girl Deena brought so much humor to the story. When Peach told Navi, “Ma Ma, you beff stankin!” I was in tears from laughing. That little girl was too much!
This title accurately reflects the stage of life Nae was in. Peach 🍑 was adorable. Syx lost a good one. These characters were kind of lit, they kept my blood pressure up.
Then kids kept me laughing. Peach and Ms. Deena were a hoot. Meeka was a wild one and Toot was a real one. I enjoyed all characters but those kids were funny. Read it
I just loved her mother. She had me dying laughing. Or poor Peaches with her little cursing self. I'm glad she got with Pos, he was a whole different breed of man.
MS. DE’ANDREAAAAA ima need you to come to the front rn and collect your flowers 💐
Reading the synopsis I was a little worried cause it made it seem like a love triangle and I can’t with that trope. Like I was just waiting and waiting for syx to get out of jail and for Navi to piss me the fuck off and run back to him. But that wasn’t the case at all. Now let’s go character by character
Navi was everything, although she pmooooooo when she tried to pull away I’m happy she came to her senses. She was a wonderful mommy to both the girls and she was a wonderful daughter. Like I really have nothing to say about my girl I’m so happy she realized what it was and got her nigga back. Another thing I loved about her is when she stood on businessssssss with syx after that jail visit. Cause how you locked away and you still cheating THEN you have the nerve to put your hands on me. She should’ve ripped his balls out cause what. I 10000000% thought she was gonna go back but she never gave him the idea that they could ever go back and I liked how she still answered the phone and let him talk to his daughter cause babyyyyyyy you would’ve been blocked from the both of us idc. The way Peach loved on her is how I want my future daughter to love on me, it just showed a reflection of the type of mom she is.
Prosper… first of all that name I love it. His approach was just everything. Like again I have nothing bad to say about him. He was an amazing father and I liked how he stayed out of Navi and Syx’s business until it was actually time to step up and nip it in the bud. I wanna know what he told him low key. HE WAS SOOOOOO PETTYYYYY during their time apart and rightfully so. I’m happy he didn’t technically crave in first cause it was fucked up how she shut him down. I knew I loved his character when he (the both of them tbh) didn’t let what he had going on with Navi completely affect his growing relationship with peach.
Peach and Emmy stole the showwwwww. They were so cute and the way they balance each other out was everything. Peach… she was funny cause she wasn’t my kid. The attitude that she had was funny but I couldn’t imagine that irl like you would’ve had to go. I can’t fart in my own house without you telling on me. But no every time she came on I was dying. Emmy is my girl fr she’s so low key but she didn’t let peach run her. They were really sister coded. I loved it.
Navi’s mom stressed me outtttttt but I’m happy how she came out. I love when the parents and kids have a great relationship and after her rocky start she really stepped up and she was def one of my fav. Meek was EVERYTHINGGGGG I loved her down. She was hilarious and just freaky asfffff. I’m completely blanking on his name but Oki’s nigga. I also really liked him and how he didn’t kiss syx’s ass and told him he was in the wrong.
NOW SYX… idk bro. Like I don’t like you will never like you but that epilogue… alright you okay ig. I honestly did like how he still called to speak to Peach and always acknowledged Emmy when she was present. I honestly do think he was more mad and nervous about Pros taking his place in Peach’s life more than Navi moving on. But I’m happy he came to his senses. And the fact that the last chapter was him having both girls really showed his growth (I honestly think that was one of my fav scenes).
I loved how the author made all the characters. They all had their flaws but they definitely showed up for each other and really showed what a village looked like. Navi and Pros were surrounded by ppl that truly loved them. And the banter between all the characters were hilarious and made this book so fun. Def one of my fav reads this year.

This is my 1st book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed every page!!!… I love the how the community of friends came together to look out for each other!!!…I love the relationship the children and adults have with the parents without all the harshness!!!… The way Prosper let Navi know he was going to stand with her and for her was done with so much respect and I was glad that Syx mentioned that to her!!!… Syx definitely won me over when he admitted that he would accept friendship with Navi since Prosper was making her and their daughter happy!!!… I love me some Toot because he didn’t not play about Peach nor Navi!!!…He was the friend that was going to hold his ppl accountable!!!. Momma Tina was sooooo full of humor and I loved it!!!…Peach was every single bit of Miss Tina!!!…Her little personality was everything through this book!!!…
I didn’t know what I was getting into with this book. I didn’t read any reviews before reading. With that being said, I enjoyed “Changes”.
Navi “Nae” was in a relationship with Syx who went to jail and she had to take care of their daughter Amari “Peach”. Syx was such a dog ughhhhhhhhh b*txh a$$ lol couldn’t stand him. Prosper “Pros” swooped in & showed Nae how to be loved and treated properly. Side side character where hilarious. Peach was my favvvv. The author wrote her to be so cuteeeee.
My only issue was I would’ve loved to see more interaction between Navi and Prosper. And also I thought the book could’ve been just a little shorter.
I was looking for a funny read and this was a good time. Starts off with Navi in a relationship with her bd Syx. He aint no good. He ends up getting locked up but she sticks beside it. Syx just couldn’t help but be himself and continue his foolishness. Navi finally decided she done and in walks Prosper. They build a friendship as well as their daughters. This is a slow burn. It got a lil rough for the two but it didn’t last long. I enjoyed the characters. Peach was so funny. Love the platonic & romantic relationships. There were lil things here and there that bothered me but overall I enjoyed reading. I would recommend.
When I tell you I haven't had a book where I laughed so much in forever! Peach, Mama Deena, and Meek were hilarious! On a serious note, I loved this story. I'm happy that Navi nipped that toxic relationship between her and Syx in the bud. It opened her up to a genuine friendship turned lovers relationship with Prosper. He came with major BDE! I love how he loved her daughter and had a great relationship with her Mom. Toot was definitely a real one. I really enjoyed this book.
This book was about Navi Richard as she goes on the journey of dealing with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend Syx is currently incarcerated at the moment. And Miss Navi is going through journey of self discovery. She has to quickly learn does she want to stay. In her toxic relationship with the Syx but in walks Prosper Jones a man that seems to have it all together. Mr. Jones walks into her job and greets her daughter Amari. So let’s go on the journey with Navi to see if she will get her Prince Charming. Or will Navi decide to stick with a toxic relationship that has ran its course.
A cute hood friends to lovers, i loved pros and navi. Lets not even get into nemmy and peach😂😭 peach was a clown and she stood on business😭🤚🏽 ms deana is partly to blame😭 lol the chocolate drop i cant
Toot and navi’s relationship?🥹 loved it🤭 ngl i feel like this book had all the right pieces but something was missing😔 also navi pissed me off when she wanted to act hard to get 😣 ugh🤚🏽. im glad syx got his act together tho
This book was sooooo good and it is my first time reading something from this author. Navi was such a mature young lady and showed such wisdom in how she dealt with Syx and her Mom who was absolutely hilarious. Navi was a great Mom to Peach and I love how she loved Emmy from the jump. Pros was a real one and there’s not much else that can even be said about him! This book is an excellent read!
Navi waited forever for Syz while he was incarcerated. Once she realized he wasn’t going to change habits that landed him there and harmed their relationship she decided she had to move on. She wanted to move on with Prosper, but due to her previous relationship it is hard. Navi has to learn to trust again so she doesn’t lose someone that truly loves her, but can she do it?
Navi deserved way better than Syx, and he knew it. He took advantage of her love for him and thought she would never get tired of his foolishness. Toot, Meek, & Chop kept me laughing 😂 Hot girl Deena needs her own series 🤣 James was the perfect fit for her. I love that Prosper was a girl dad who loved his daughter first & not the streets. He is a real example of a man, and he was exactly what Navi needed.
