This is a sequel to “Trudy Phillips New Girl” It is not as good. Or perhaps I am just not seeing it through the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia. There is a lack of depth, it has a very loose plot line, and there is little to no character development. It is written in an older time period - 1954 the characters are definitely from the 50’s I liked hearing about what happened to Trudy after her first semester at Tylertown Junior High because as a teenager reading the first book I always wondered. Now I wonder if I had read this book long ago perhaps a re-read now would have been only nostalgic and I would have overlooked the flaws a little more easily.
