This bibliography presents Kafka in a global context, showing the worldwide popularity of his works in many languages and international scholarship dealing with his writings, his philosophy, his life and his times. Volume 2: Annotated Bibliography of Secondary Literature 1955-1997 (in two parts) is subdivided into five Bibliographies, Collections of Articles, Dissertations and Theses, Articles and Other Contributions, and Books. Part 1 contains bibliographical entries on works published 1955-1980; Part 2 includes addenda to Part 1 as well as titles since 1981. Besides the old centres of Kafka activities the emergence of new concentrations can be seen in the Far East (Korea, Japan) and South America (Argentina, Mexico, Brazil), as well as in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Rumania). A number of adaptations of works by Kafka and works influenced by him are also included showing the vitality of the Kafka phenomenon.
