Schuyler Chase appears to be a beautiful eighteen-year-old girl in suburban Atlanta. In reality, she is an immortal being caught in an epic war between vampires and werewolves. As a half-vampire, half-werewolf hybrid, Skye is an abomination to both--hated, feared and hunted because of her superior supernatural powers. Skye hides from her relentless enemies by pretending to be a high school senior, each year switching schools to keep up the ruse. In her newest school she quickly makes friends, only to discover that they too are immortals--werewolves from the same pack that had killed her parents sixty years earlier. One of them is the devilishly handsome Zac, whose blood calls to her like a siren's song. Skye fears that her new friends will kill her the moment they discover what she is, despite their opinions about the pointless blood feud. Time and again they stand by her and protect her. But will they be able to stop themselves when their free will is taken from them? Will Skye be forced to kill them to survive?

The Child of Two Worlds was a great start to a new series. The writing is excellent, and after the first couple of chapters, you are easily hooked. I finished this in one day because I simply couldn't put it down. The main reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the beginning. There were times at the beginning of the book where I felt it was a little choppy, or that I had missed something. Because of this, it was as if the characters were best friends after several pages, something that left me a little frustrated. Honestly though, it wasn't that big of a deal for me. The book is short, so understandably, things have to be a little rushed. Although, I definitely think Ms. Megahee could have expanded on the beginning a bit because she has a supreme talent with writing, it is all fixed as the story progresses. There is a lot of action, adventure, and excitement, all which more than makes up for the first few beginning chapters.
I loved all of the main characters in this story. Skye was great as the lead character. She was strong, tough-as-nails, and feisty; three things that I love in a heroine. She fought for herself and her friends, and never backed down from a challenge. She wanted to learn more about her powers as a hybrid, and wasn't afraid to explore the paths that those powers led to. Zac was a swoon-worthy love interest, and I want to stake my claim now (no pun intended). His protectiveness over Skye was sometimes a bit much, but Skye was right there putting him in his place, which made for some funny moments. Nevertheless, you can easily tell how much he loves Skye, and would do anything and everything for her. I hated seeing him go through the things he went through in the book! I just wanted to reach into the story and save him myself!! Sarah and Caleb were awesome as well, and make for great friends. Everyone should have friends like these in their lives. The group sticks together no matter what, proving that loyalty is everything. I definitely can't wait to find out more about their backgrounds, and learn more about each individual character.
There is a ton of action and nail-biting moments in this story that will leave you on the edge of your seat. However, be warned there are some tough, violent moments in the book . Ms. Megahee is definitely one to watch. You will easily be captivated with every magical word on the page. I can't wait to read the next in the series, and hope it comes out soon! I highly recommend checking out this book if you are a fan of vampire and werewolf novels. You won't be disappointed. Happy reading :)
The Child of Two Worlds by M.E. Megahee is about Schuyler Chase who is a hybrid between a vampire and a werewolf, an abomination in the eyes of each group. Her parents were killed when she was young, so her Aunt Lenore then takes over raising and training Schuyler. Aunt Lenore tries to instill in Schuyler a “you or them mentality”. She wants her to realize that they will not show her any mercy so she shouldn’t show it to them.
At the beginning of the school year, she finds two new boys, Caleb and Zac have joined her class. Zac’s scent is intoxicating to her and is having an odd effect on her. You also find out that Caleb has a sister, Sarah who ends up hitting it off with Skye and they become best friends.
Caleb, Sarah, and Zac protect Skye from numerous attempts on her life (this girl gets shot so many times it’s unbelievable.) Even though the three of them have helped her, she is still leery of them, she doesn’t know if she can fully trust them. (Which she eventually gets over and trusts them whole heartedly.)
After being captured, tortured and eventually rescued by Aunt Lenore and her mate, they decide they are not going to wait around to be captured again. They all decide to go on the offensive and hunt those who are hunting them.
M.E. Megahee has written a marvelous story with a strong female protagonist who also shows vulnerability. The story has its moments of teen angst, plenty of action and tense moments. There also are some very violent, horrific moments where Skye is violated but the author was able to get the point across without having to be graphic.
The storyline is very good and flows nicely. I think that the authors writing style and her unique ability to fill her characters with such appeal enables the reader to immerse themselves into the story and it also allows the reader to appreciate the story more on an emotional level.
The Child of Two Worlds by M.E. Megahee should be put on your must read now list of books. It will be exciting to see how the story progresses and I for one can’t wait for the next book in the series.

First of all I want to say, Guys give this book a chance don't judge it by its cover and I admit the cover is the most ugliest thing I ever seen. ugh I don't understand why publishers design ugly cover why??? they know most of us look at the cover when we read any books, even though we say we don't. anyway rant over here goes the actual book review....
This book is an emotional roller coaster! Oh my God I didn't know it would be this good. Right when you begin the book it hook you right then and there. basically its a story about an immortal girl who Is half werewolf and half vampire and she been hunted by both races. Her parents have been killed for having her (hybrid baby). Now she is in hiding with her aunt who is a werewolf and her protector . After running for long time her and her aunt finally settle in a new town. This new town is surrounded by werewolves and it is there where she meets three werewolves, form friendship with them and one of the werewolf end up being her love interest/soul mate form then on the story takes off.
very easy read, flow smoothly and action packed. It will suck you in the second you start it.
I mean if this doesn't interest you to read this awesome book, I don't know what will.
this book also have some dark themes in it, and you will be heartbroken, but above all it is different from typical ya supernatural books. I recommend it to everyone.

Schuyler Chase is the kind of protagonist I love. She thinks through her actions and is intelligent at a reasonable level, she's not smart enough to seem like a know at all and makes good decisions most of the time. Another thing I loved about her was her way of handling her loneliness. She didn't think of herself as better or worse than everyone else, her lack of attachment to others was just a part of her life. This made her sudden friendship with Sarah and the others much more believable. She unconsciously craved companionship but didn't know how to form relationships outside of the one with her aunt without ending up hurt when she had to leave or betrayed by the person she desired to be friends with. She was scared. So very scared, here's a girl whose spent her entire life running and doesn't know what 'normal' really means. It was real bravery on her part to open up to Zac, Caleb, and Sarah but she did it anyway and I think that's one of the bravest things you can do when your afraid.
I see great potential in M.E Megahee as a writer and I hope that she continues to write this series. I look forward to reading more of her novels in the future.
This is a wonderfully written book! It flows easily through it's timeline between what is happening now and the characters of the past. There are definitiely some twists that leave you wondering what is going to happen next! It held my attention through most of the book and it is a perfect Young Adult paranormal book as it is written to be. I will definitely be looking out for more from this author!
WOW!! This book was so good! At first there was doubt that it was going to be good. But after the first few pages it's like I couldn't put it down. If you enjoyed the Twilight books then I think you will enjoy this one! It was written really well and I'm hoping that this is going to be a series!! I received the book yesterday and finished it last night!!
