Make sure you go get your copy of Aviva Gat’s latest book on Amazon! Having two sisters I know that not every relationship between sisters is the same, but I think that Aviva Gat did an amazing job describing the relationship in the book and making it relatable. It also makes you think about the impact that parenting can have on a sibling relationship without the parents meaning to do so. As with her other books, I couldn’t put Sisterly Competition down! I enjoyed the story and the timeline helped to make the story even more interesting. I’m always pleasantly surprised when there is a completely unexpected plot twist, and this book was no exception.
I always enjoy when it is obvious that an author has done their research and I felt this way with Hannah’s job in particular. The author described it in a way that could be understood by those of us that have no clue about this kind of job.
And I loved the description of daily life in the last chapter... you’ll have to read the book to know what I’m talking about!
I would love a sequel!

Hannah and Harper have been competitive with each other since they were young. In this book we follow them for many years stating in their 20’s and 30’s with a few flashbacks to their childhood. Both sisters tell their story and I loved becoming part of their family. Hannah and Harper love each other but are also jealous of each other. This story is a wonderful read and a great example of things are not always better on the other side. I really enjoyed how the story would fast forward several years and pick up the story at a different part of the sisters lives. It allowed me to follow them throughout their lives rather than a short portion. This is a great family drama and an emotional read. I would love to read more books by this author.

Another great read from Aviva Gat. I felt connected to both sisters-Hannah because I am the older sibling like her, but also Harper because I always felt I was competing like her. Aviva did a great job at keeping my attention throughout the whole book, even though I'm not a huge fan of flash back type of books.
I only wish there was a little more to the ending-I NEED to know what happened between the two sisters at the table! Maybe a sequel will happen!

Hannah and Harper... Thrown into a lifelong competition from the beginning. I can't help but wonder whether it's nature or nurture. There's a lot of love between them, and they're quite close. Until they're not. I wish I knew if and how the sisters have resolved their issues. As always, make sure you have tissues handy. This is the third book I've read from this author, and it is not to be missed. Her stories have a way of sticking with me for a long time, and this will no doubt be the same.

This book is enthralling from the get go and so relatable! The reflection of motherhood, sisterhood and relationships was intricate and so perfect because it touched on so many important issues and I could really see it all in my mind! The characters were complex. I could not put it down. Would 100% recommend

Amazing 5-Star Read

A very powerful and emotional read about two sisters; two imperfect humans. I was very surprised by the ending. Be sure to download the bonus chapter. I highly recommend this book.

No one ever wins

How could a harmless competition lead to a lifetime of misery? Hannah and her sister Harper competed in everything and no one ever won. Is this what we have come to?

Aviva Gat did it again! This might be my favorite novel by her yet!

Hannah and Harper are sisters, born only a year apart. The book follows them thru their 20s and 30s, with flashbacks to their childhood. With such a small age gap between them, the sisters have been competitive with each other since a young age. Throughout the novel the competition intensifies, from boyfriends, to weddings, motherhood, and the 2020 pandemic.

I could not put this book down!

*Possible spoiler: I wanted more from the last chapter, I like when books have a concise ending, this one was more open-ended.
