Widowed contractor Logan Burkett knows exactly what troublemaking teens need: discipline. A former rabble-rouser, Logan had his life turned around by firm guidance and hard work. But try telling that to Pippa Gallagher. The softhearted event planner runs a skate park ministry for troubled teens and thinks a place to be themselves is the answer. As he and Pippa work together renovating the space, they seem to disagree about everything. But when disaster strikes, Logan finds himself feeling very protective of the beautiful planner and surprised to discover they share one very special thing in common…love.

Event planner and stakeboard missionary Pippa Gallagher has returned to Vine Beach to manage her grandmother's art gallary and her own stakeboard mission for teenagers.
Logan Burkett has returned from his missionary work in Africa, to do construction work and sell a property to honor his wife's missionary work. He is doing the construction work for the Gallaghers and has been e-mailing Pippa with details. She didn't know that "LB" was the same high school football star, who used to get hit on the head by her stakeboard from her locker above his. Both want to avoid crowds and speeches, so they leave her grandmother's event early.
Both are connecting through missionary history and love of salvage finds, but both are stubborn and see how to turn teenagers into Christian men differently. Yet, the chemistry is strong between them.
Tender novel with humor and heart, plus Christian verse that plays out in action.
Widower Logan comes home determined to sell her late wife's property and move on with his life. Pippa comes home to help her grandmother and to run a skate park ministry. Logan works to remodel Pippa's grandmother's property with Pippa overseeing the project. They learn that although they have much in common, their different views on troublemaking teens threatens to keep them apart. This book has a good storyline that had me wanting to read what would happen next. Kathleen Y'Barbo's vivid descriptions help you to imagine the R 10:14 warehouse with artist Rico's graffiti logo, what they find in the junkyards, and Logan's vision for Pippa's grandmother's property. An enjoyable read.
"The importance of never judging someone based on their first appearance is highlighted in this tale, and it is refreshing to see the positives in the street kids" (RT Book Reviews). 4 stars
I won this book from a giveaway on Soul Inspirationz. This is my first book to read from author Kathleen Y'Barbo. I loved the story about Logan and Pippa. One of the lessons learned from reading this book is..never judge people by looks alone. I definitely will be reading more books from Kathleen!
