The story is good but writing needs a bit of editing and also describing the characters in detail. The story moved at pace and some parts felt robotic. But overall it was good and good work Shalini Keep it up.!!!

Forbidden Fruit Taste the Sweetest

When I say I was not expecting Lance and Luna I was fully unprepared. I didn’t read any descriptions or anyone else’s review so I could come into this blind. This book was a forbidden romance like no other. This was filled with the wam bam thank you ma’am. Our FMC and MMC had a slow burn romance filled with intimate moments that got them to the finish line eventually. As the saying goes slow and steady wins the race.

With that being said let’s get to the meat and potatoes 🥩 🥔. Luna has a Cinder-Ella lifestyle an evil stepmother, a strange fate that leads her far away and lack of a father figure. Which unfortunately makes it easy for her to be brushed under the rug with no one being aware🥲.

So Luna is sent to a boarding school and that’s where she finally has a chance to blossom. As this was a very short novel I don’t want to spoil to much but this is a student teacher romance so when Luna meets Mr. Emerson aka Daddy Lance !! Things get a little rough rugged and raw !!

But it takes a while they slowly get to discover each other and they have lovely slow moments. There are some 🎬scenes which are sooo spicy 🥵 you have to just get a little towel action going but this was a fun read and it was my first time giving this author a chance and it was so worth the ride !!!

P.S. there was mentions of its readability and it appears there are two versions of the same book but this read more like a graphic novel and I enjoyed this for the easy feel of this read !!

"Boundaries disappeared the instant your lips touched mine, allowing me to give you everything I wanted to offer and exceeding your wildest expectations.”
Aw. Cute.

The second we met Lance, I wanted to call the police, what kind of all girls school is he running?!

"I asked her to bend over on my desk, and she dared to look at me as if it wasn't what she wanted.

It wasn’t.

The whole bully situation where Nina dines on Lunas vagina? Kinky.
But I wasn't a fan.

The book is over about 4/5ish years.
It felt robotic at times, but I'm happy for Luna and ended up liking Lance. He proves he isn't pervy. It could have used some editing, but for a debut book, I had fun reading it.
Thank you for sending me a copy Shalini. I'll keep an eye out for future books 🫶🏻

Thank you to the author for sending me this e-book, I truly appreciate it. I want everything I type to be taken as constructed criticism

This book had a great concept, a trope many romance readers adore, but it wasn't executed very well.

There were hardly any descriptions about the characters. The scenes had big holes in between. No bridge to connect the two. Towards the end of the book we jump really far into the future and it just didn't make any sense to me.

Certain topics and situations were brought up with very brief details(like lances' father and Sasha) It would have been nice to jump into why certain things were why they were.

Luna and Lance falling in love in 4 days is not realistic (I know most romance books are unrealistic but it just didn't make sense)

I enjoyed the concept of the book, if it had more meat to it's bones I think this would be an amazing read, explain how Emilia and Max even met, how they got to know each other, how they met, cause it doesn't seem like that connection would be likely

This was the first time I read a book written by Shalini.I think this story had a good plot and I am all for the professor and student trope. With that being said I think this was too fast paced for me and I didn’t really get to know the characters as much as I would have liked to. Lance Emerson is a professor. Luna is a student in his class. From the first class you can feel the tension between the two. For better or worse this tension is the catalyst to the beginning of their relationship. They are both coming from similar family backgrounds and are essentially alone. At certain points I felt like the story was rushed and was left missing a connection with the characters. I am looking forward to reading more books from Shalini Sharma.

4/5 ⭐️ 2.5🌶️

This is an age gap, student/teacher romance with a HEA. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book other than it was a student-professor romance but it was a good read. It was a decent paced book not fast but not really a medium pace. He definitely fell first and their relationship was super cute! The ending epilogue really helped wrap everything up in a little bow and left no questions unanswered! I am glad I read this cause it gave me another author to add to my list of must read authors!

I was gifted this book by the author. Any thoughts are my own.

Firstly, the writing is not good. There are numerous occasions where I am left confused because the writing style overexplains things and there isn't consistency between chapters. The plot is somewhat there but the characters are not fully developed enough to carry the story in any way. Overall, a truly mediocre book that reads like a Wattpad novel.

I DNF this book.

Thank you so much to the author for reaching out and sending me a review copy. That was so sweet and kind 💖

Unfortunately, I couldn’t continue reading this book. It looks like a really great plot is there but there is a lot of editing needed still.

The way it’s written seems to contradict itself sometimes. It isn’t very descriptive. The characters aren’t written in a way to connect us to them.

There were also some aspects I couldn’t get through - Wince is not something that makes a sound.

This is all constructive criticism, with some editing I’m sure this could turn into an incredible story ❤️ there is real potential, it just needs to be worked on a bit.

Thank you again to Salini Sharma for giving me this review copy - I wish you all the best x

This book was well written and had a very different story plot for a romance novel. I liked most of Luna and Lance's story. The book is very short and seems to be lacking something. Parts of the story between Luna and her Stepmom seem like they could have been extended for a better background story. Overall it was a good book that held my attention and was quick to read. It just need a little bit of a boost in a couple areas and it would be much, much better.

Forbidden Love

Currently in student x teacher era 💜

He fell first and he fell hard in an insta-love type of falling.

Mr Emerson known for being strict falls in love with 20 year old Luna Hendrix after she left her abusive/ negligent home where she stayed with her stepmother Silvia and Nolan (the boyfriend)

Luna, being a victim of abuse and negligence finds it difficult to open up to anyone but she feels an instant connection towards Lance and they start a relationship.

I've always had a soft spot for forbidden romance and theirs was quite the palate cleanser from the usual dark romance.

It was a good read and I can't wait to read more from Shalini💜

Forbidden Love a romantic short book between a student and a professor. I usually don’t like this trope because I find it pretty uncomfortable, but the chemistry between Luna and this professor didn’t really seemed forced.
I have to say that the first few pages were very rushed, and I didn’t find it easy to read. In many instances I wanted a break and it took me so long to read it. But at the end it’s a short novel, and if you like the trope I think it will be great to read!

Flawless!

I loved Shalini’s erotic tale! Such the stereotypical teacher/ student forbidden romance, but this really delved deeper into the reasoning behind their actions! It all came to fruition at the end with their devotion and love for each other shining through! Very well done!

Age gap/ virgin FMC/ forced proximity/ forbidden romance/ student/professor/ FF/ OW drama/ time jumps/ HEA

Trigger warning: death of a loved one/ neglectful parenting/ SA/ dubcon/ noncon/ assault/ violence

This book needed editing. The dialogue felt juvenile and the storyline felt unrealistic even for a fictional story. They went from kissing to oral in a split second yet the MMC refused to take the FMCs virginity until they were married like 4 years later?? The timing of this book just felt odd. Not to mention that the MMCs best friend and the FMCs bestie got together when she was either still a minor or freshly 18. That was weird in my opinion.

Not enough spice. Forced sexual experience with another woman as a form of punishment. Emotional immaturity from both MCs. I really disliked this book and I only finished it out of spite.

I wanted to love it

I really wanted to love Forbidden Love: A Student-Professor Romance by Shalini Sharma — the premise is intriguing and has all the elements of a steamy forbidden romance. However, the writing could use more editing. There are quite a few spelling and grammar mistakes that pulled me out of the story, and some parts just don’t flow very smoothly from one scene to the next.

That said, I can see the potential here. The author clearly put a lot of heart into the story and the emotional tension between the characters does come through. With a stronger edit and better pacing, this could have been a 5-star read. For now, it’s a solid 3 stars from me.

3.5⭐️’s!!!
Okay so wasn’t sure how I was gunna like this one but it was a decent read for me. Quick romance where it’s like they meet and then 5mins later he’s hovering her and then another 5mins later saying I love you, isn’t really for me. But the time jumps towards the end made it better.
I love that our FMC stood ground on her boundaries but ugh why did no one ever respect her when she said stop? Including him. I get it but I respect a respectful man. So glad that she still followed her own dreams even though he basically wanted to control her life.

I received this as an ARC. The author was kind enough to send me the book to write an honest review. Due to different circumstances, I kept on putting this book off, but finally I read it last month.

The writing was not that great. I have read teenagers writing better than this; maybe if the publishing company cross-checked and helped the author out, it would have been a finer one. The story was okayish.

I was given a copy of this book for review by the author.

I enjoyed Luna and Lance's slow burn romance and spicy scenes, but I was left wanting more. I do like the author's writing. I just wish it didn't seem so rushed.

I am glad I got the chance to read this book and I look forward to reading more by this author.

So bad

I think i rolled my eyes 20 times while reading this book. I downloaded it when it was free. My goodness. There were unrealistic situations and just bizare behavior from everyone involved. No character development. He says he loves her after 2 days. Also, there are so many instances of non-consensual acts and violence. It was a trainwreck.

Characters don't match setting

It's hard to really explain why I thought this book was off. The professor was extremely needy. It was way past endearing. I actually felt lots of second hand embarrassment reading this.

I really enjoyed this story of Luna and Lance. The romance was exciting with a nice mix of sweet and spicy moments. The book is short and easy to read, something you can finish in one sitting. I wish a few parts were developed more, but overall it was a fun and engaging read.

This was my first book by Shalini, and while I liked the professor-student trope, the execution didn’t quite work for me. The story had potential, but it moved too fast, leaving little room to connect with the characters.

Lance, a professor, and Luna, his student, share instant chemistry, but their relationship develops too quickly to feel believable. The writing style was also inconsistent, and key plot points, like Lance’s father and his connection with Sasha, were introduced but never fully explored.

The romance—Luna and Lance falling in love in just four days—felt rushed, and the lack of character development made it hard to fully invest.

Overall, the book had a good concept but needed more depth to make the characters and their connection feel authentic. It’s a quick, engaging read, but it lacks the emotional depth to make it truly memorable.

It has promise as far as the storyline, but it definitely feels a bit robotic.
The way the characters interact doesn’t make sense to me.
It has a good foundation for a story, I think it just needs to be reworked a bit to make it flow nicer. To many things don’t make sense.
